Come on in and say hello.

Dawn, good to see you sharing pics. Now, I need to ask that you go to the tech room and learn how to do so using another place to host them. Pics take a ton of bandwidth, so while we haven't disabled adding them, we prefer they be hosted elsewhere. Thanks in advance. Also, if you share in the appropriate rooms - more people will see them - like your dog in the pets room, for example. Just a suggestion.

I'm of the opinion that if you set money aside monthly to a maintenance fund - you'll, in most cases be way better off than the extended warranties. That's how/why they make money. That said, they can come in handy sometimes. And some people swear by them. So don't think I'm telling you to do what I do - just throwing in my 2 cents.

Welcome to the forum. Hope that we can help keep some balance in your life these next months. The immediate road ahead is uncharted but Hospice is so supportive and informative..... you will find your way, one twisty lane at a time.

Look forward to meeting you around the campfires real and imagined!

Bethers,

Thanks for the advice on the pics. Will put them in right place from now on. Also, DH and I have been talking about what I am going to do when he passes tonight. I will probably sell our farm when something happens to my Mom. We have her living next door to us. She is 80 and my husband says I should take her with me when I begin my RV'ing life. He is not sure how safe I would be going solo. I think putting money aside is a good idea too. Like DH said, Tow veh and 5th wheel are in really good shape and should last me for a good while. I have so much to learn and I am familiar with them.

Welcome to the forum. You are from an area my husband and I loved when we had cutting horses. I also had relatives in Dallas until a couple of years ago so spent a lot of time up there. Sorry your husband is so sick. When you are able to travel you will find there are many get togethers in Texas. My husband doesn't want to travel so I only make about one a month. There are so many I could almost go from one to another one if I could. You will make many friends to camp and travel with.

Hope you didn't have any damage from the tornados that went through today.

Dawn, So sorry about your husband starting on hospice. I know that it's a blessing and a curse- in that you want more time, but they are telling you it won't be there. Warm thoughts and prayers - and big hugs to you - for the coming months. Hope you can come on here sometimes and enjoy and smile - you'll need all of them you can get these coming months.

Hello Dawn,
I'm new here too and already learning from these ladies. So sorry to hear that your husband's health is failing so fast. I hope and pray you will have the help and strength you need for each day.

Enjoyed your pictures! I live in Texas too and hope to make a gtg before too long, would be nice to meet up with you and others here. Seems like a really special group of ladies.

Welcome Dawn, so sorry about your husband's declining health. You have connected with a great group of women. Please stay in close touch with us. Your Jayco is a beautiful rig. Good for you getting yourself ready to go solo. If your mom is in good health this can be a very special and meaningful time for both of you. May God bless you and your husband.

Welcome Dawn! And prayers for you and your husband. I'm from TX as well and just got back from several days at Pedernales Falls and McKinney Falls State Parks, camping with 2 12-year olds - talk about an experience!!!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I really appreciate all the kind thoughts. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and maybe someday doing gtg's. My Mom really likes the idea of hitting the road with me someday. Same day our doctor told us Chuck was dying, he told her that other than arthritis, she is in excellent health. She misses RV'ing since my stepdad passed. They loved the lifestyle for more than 30 years. I just hope we have lots of time before this is really an option. As far as Chuck goes, I hope the doctor doesn't know what he is talking about.

Happy Easter everyone,
Dawn
