TGIF!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TGIF!

Postby Cedar518 » Fri Dec 05, 2008 6:22 am

It's Friday and not a creature is stirring,... all our sisters are still in snooze-land. I'm dragging around running late because,......

I was out watching high school basketball games last night! Three of them! So I'd rather be sleeping in this a.m. but I'll get out the door to work instead. Not before I get the coffee pot a-perking and get that ever-present jar of biscotti on the table. Mugs are out, come on into Zeee's kitchen and sit a spell!

Gooooood Morning Sistahs!

Oh my, basketball first thing in the morning. Ohhhhh if only I had a 1/4 of that energy!!! LOL Nope just the usual morning here. Eyes open but wanting to close and of course dragging butt. LOL

Dang did I have a miserable time trying to get to sleep last night! That's what I get for coming home early and taking a nap. :( My sound machine runs for an hour at a time and I hit that button 3 times last night. Was pretty much awake the second time I hit it cause I was roasting my butt off in bed, and I had the fan on high too. I did doze off in between the second hit and the third tho. Third must have been the charm? I finally went OUT. I am gonna pay for it today putting in 11hrs at work. Gads I'll be falling asleep between calls.

Cold out on the back porch this morning. For a change Yahoo and my thermometer are in agreement on the temp. Both say about 28, but after the rain that started yesterday afternoon and was still lightly falling when I went to bed? It feels colder because of the damp. Brrrrrr

I am now dressed and almost tanked up on coffee, the dogs have been out twice, Jenny is gone already to work. LOL She came stumbling out in her fuzzy housecoat, slippers, eyes at half mast and out the door she went to start her car to let it warm up. Her eyeballs were open when she got back in here!  Told me to be careful when we leave as the front porch is all icy from the rain. Yep! Back porch was too when I went out there with the dogs.

Ok Kelly's alarm just went off and I'm gonna go drag her behind out of bed this morning!! She has been wanting to sleep in and yesterday we didn't get out of here at the usual time and someone had already taken out good parking place. By goodness we will get out of here in time today!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and remember to stay safe.

Love to all

Good morning everyone! I'm home and glad to have a chance to catch up here again. Yesterday I said goodbye to cancer treatments...it's been over 2 years since my last chemo and am now cancer free, so the chemo port came out in a minor surgery yesterday at Moffit Cancer Ctr. in Tampa. Dr. wanted to leave it in for 2 years "just in case." The Lord and I knew it was no longer needed, but we humored the good dr. So, I'm not allowed to bend over or lift anything for a few days...so good excuse to join you all for a second cup of coffee this morning.

Off to read through the many posts....heven't been on here much since before Thanksgiving with company (DDs & Grandkids here) for several days and then other commitments to keep me away.

Hey, Barbz, are you still planning to organize a FL gtg this winter? Let me know if I can help ya.

Woooooooo hooooooooooooooo, Liz! Great news that the doctor agreed and removed the port. 2 years cancer free is going to be 3, then 4, etc. Am so happy for you.

Cedar, which one is your gd?

Lori, looking forward to seeing you soon - but we'll be all bundled up today, that's for sure :)

Oh Liz,...that's GREAT news! You know that you and my friend Kath share that, she has just been given more time between checkups,... from three months to four months now. She's nearly six years after her last chemo. I am sure you will get there too!

My DGD is the tall blonde,....with long curly hair tied back.

Liz, that is wonderful news! And Cedar, your basketball pictures kind of reminded me of all the time I spent in the high school gym when youngest daughter was on dance team. That was so much fun!

Not much going on here this morning. A friend and I drove down to Caney, Kansas last night to watch their annual holiday parade and eat chili beforehand. We were so bundled up we probably looked like little Pillsbury Doughboys or something, but it WAS cold. And tonight we're heading out to Coffeyville's parade. I love small-town parades!

The temperature has risen all the way up to 28 degrees already! Think I'll hang around inside and read the four library books I checked out. Since I'm leaving here a week from today, I'd like to finish them, especially the latest Janet Evanovich, Fearless Fourteen, probably her funniest Stephanie Plum book yet.

I spent yesterday morning revising and focusing a resume, and writing a decent cover letter to the person handling Amazon workampers, offering my ministry and chaplaincy services here next year. Sometimes I find it completely amazing the way things turn out. Here I thought I drove here to work at Amazon and make lots of money. Instead, I’m focusing on the people and on their needs. And that’s what makes it all worthwhile. Several of us were talking at dinner last week about the need for a truly ecumenical program that would not stress one particular version of God, but be inclusive enough to include Catholics, more liberal Protestants, UUs, and so forth. And I could definitely do that. I have no idea if he will go for this offer, but can only try and see what happens since I dropped off the whole packet at the office yesterday.

Have a great day, all of you.

Liz, I SO happy for you !!!!!
I bet it feels great to have that port out - at least it'll feel great once you have a few days to recover from the removal surgery.
Yippee !!!!!

Good Afternoon All, I am having lunch and catching up.
Cedar, I was searching the faces of the dark haired players looking for a family resemblance. :)
Liz, wonderful news, one less thing to take care of and the last reminder.
Chris, I just finished Janet's book. I think that is why I am still single, I am looking for a Cupcake Man. I have read everyone of her books, the only books that makes me laugh out loud when I am alone. I want to grow up to be Grandma Mazur. ?sp
I don't know how Zee does this, I can remember what anyone else said so I can't add my two cents. Next time I will take notes. Till later.

Just the same I'm sure it was good to hear the words from the Dr., too.
Yes, rest a few days and then be your old self. I'm so happy for you!
