sometime around November 8, 2012 I will be a new grandma again. DD and her boyfriend are starting a family, haha, much to their surprise :o
But everyones excited and this is her first and probably only cause she's 36 now. She is a healthy girl herself but she's having the usual tests
done because of her age and they have her come in for a checkup every two weeks. The whole family is hoping for a girl but we will know
after April 24th. She's having a surgical test done that day, not the amineosyntesis, its called a cvs and fairly new and absolutely accurate.
The last sonogram showed the heartbeat so last night they told his mother and she's so excited. Couple more weeks and I can get out the
yarn :D

the cvs procedure will test for all the scarry genetic and non genetic stuff. They actually take a little snip of the placenta, that alone is scarry to me.
But I will be at the hospital with her and bring her home and she'll stay in bed the rest of the day.

Exciting news for sure. I'll pray for good news on the testing. What will you make first with the yarn?

I only do the flat stuff Liz, so of course just an afghan, no hats or booties. But I'll make some baby quilts too
with the sewing machine.

Great news! Congrats!

What is the difference between the CVS and the Amnio? Is the CVS better/safer? I had the amnio and that was awful (foot long needle!), altho the video they showed me first was even worse! I almost passed out from watching that, and then refused to have the amnio test done. Luckily, the specialist I went to, was very nice and was able to calmly talk me back into getting it done and distracted me the whole time by asking me questions, etc. Apparently, I wasn't the first one he had to do that with! I did get a video of the ultrasound to take home with me too! That was cool!

Hopefully, all will be well with mom and baby! I was 40 and she was very healthy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
