All good ideas from sisters. My only suggestion is to go slow
with the shopping for equipment and gear at first! Get the
necessities and don't forget that part of the fun is traveling
light.

Amen -

I spent a fortune on things people told me I "needed" to have that I've never used. Many of which I've given away or even thrown away (gasp). And what we each need for our own comfort level is different.

I'll just get the minimum, but my sons are really hopeless when it comes to mother's day and my birthday, which is coming up. (Like either completely forgetting my birthday or calling me two days early to apologize for forgetting it!) I used to enjoy waiting to see how long it would take them to figure out they forgot a major event. Twice, one son ordered flowers for me to be delivered on a weekend when I was out of town, so they got driven around for two days. It would have been nice to have had a daughter!!!

They are a little more coordinated now that they have wives to keep track of such things, but I keep running wish lists on Amazon for them to pick things from. I also started one on Camping World.com. This saves them from having to figure out what Mom needs and gets me the things I really want!

So most of these things will go on my Wish Lists.

Judy you simply need to do a list and give it to your DIL's then you will get what you need.

My son is the same way on dates. Unless someone reminds him he totally forgets. When he calls for a birthday or something the first one I look at as his reminder is Kelly!

Rubber hose washers. It's not a good idea to have water leaking around the electric lines, and it's a terrible waste.

I always carry an extra package of those 1141 bulbs because for some reason I seem to blow them out a lot and all my interior lights use them as well as the "porch" light. I now have an additional water hose and wish I had a 30eamp extension cord even though I haven't needed it yet. Used the 30 to 15 adapter twice but never the 50 to 30. I agree with the others that you will just need to try it a few times to see what you need since we are all a little different and Walmart is almost everywhere.

Wal-Mart gift cards!!! Also gives you 3 cents off gasoline. Which reminds me...check out Pilot Flying J's RV gas card. Doesn't cost anything and gives you 2 cents off at the pump. If you use that with a credit card that gives you cents or percent back on gas purchases it's a double hit. Granted not all Pilot Flying J's are easy for RV's to get in and out... but it's a good deal and really great if you can find one that has an "RV" pump that is out by inself that is easy in/out.

I found out yesterday Walmart was giving 5 cents per gallon off if you use the Walmart Discover card. I never noticed that before but I usually got gas at Sam's because they were the cheapest. With 5 cents off that was cheaper than Sam's. I find most of the Walmart gas stations hard to get into but I might try harder. ;)

Yes it might be worth the extra effort. But i don't want another credit card. One of the grocery stores around here (HEB) is giving 11 cents a gallon off until April 15th. Man I need to go somewhere so I can fill up on that cheap gas!
