Friday Morning!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday Morning!

Postby Irmi » Fri Mar 23, 2012 6:35 am

Good morning everyone!

It's Friday and for us, it's traveling day. We'll be leaving here in a few hours and will travel about 4 hours and go to Walterboro SC and stay there a couple days. The chance of rain is greater there for today than it is here in GA and they have a 50% chance of rain for tomorrow. I hope the rain waits until we get there and get set up. I'm going to put some country ribs in the crockpot and let them cook while we're underway and that will be our dinner this evening.

We've had a great time at Crooked River State Park with Lori & Ernie. It was very laid back & relaxing. Hopefully we can meet up with them in PA before they head out west for their big trip.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Irmi and all who follow,

Sure was nice seeing you start coffee this mornng Irmi. Have been wondering how your trip home was going. Looks like it's going to be nice and slow. So glad you enjoyed your time with Lori and Ernie and that you will hopefully be able to meet up with them again in PA.

The rain that has been working it's way across the country, has now descended upon us. It's a good soaking kind of rain. No threatening weather up in this part of the state as the temps are a bit too cool for that. By Monday we will be back into the 40's, which is normal for this time of year. As a friend of mine said on Facebook, when the temperatures fall as we know they will, let us be grateful for the blessing of the warm weather which we received, as iit is not appreciated any place more than here in Northern Michigah. It melted the snow, gave us a chance to get out and do summer things in March which have never been done before and just purely enjoy being out in the woderful warmth and sun. So we will temporarilly put away the boats, the swim suits, the sunscreen, the bikes, the campers and what not, and wait patiently for it's return.

Soos, glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better. Hope it continues that way for you. I'm sure if you get to the SC GTG, that there will be willing hands to help you unhook and rehook up if you need to. It amazes me when I read of members having heavy equalizer bars on their hitches as mine only weigh 13 pounds a piece. Probably depends on the size and weight of the TT perhaps.

Kathleen, sounds like you are enjoying your new surroundings. Have fun reorganizing your storage area. LIz, glad to hear you are safely in camp near your daughters and now will have Sport worked on and be ready to hit the road again. And thank you for that beautiful pictures. You are so talented with a camera.

Echo, you sound so happy and content in your new home and truly this time you are "home". Best of luck with your job at Dollywood and so glad to hear the Kelly also has a job. Kudos to you both. Vickie, I am keeping my fingers crossed that you don't get flooded again. Hopefully maybe this time you can move stuff up higher than the flood waters will be. Waiting and watching has to be nerve racking. Please keep in touch.

As for me here, it's time to get moving. Want to take a quicck bath and wash my hair before departing for gym class. Not much planned other than that. A quick stop at the store probably. Have some things to do in the house here, like clean, but with the chillier temps coming in, i may hold off on that till next week, but definitely want to run the vac around.

So keep safe those in the face of storms and rising waters. Those who are on the road, keep an eye out too. Everybody else, hope you have a wonderful day no matter what you are doing. Take care all.

Good morning Everyone, Wishing you safe travels today, Irmi. I too, will hope that you all can get settled in before the hard rain attacks you  Not happy I am so far away when ribs are served for dinner tonight. :D

Rain expected here today too, I should have known I was ordering it when I made the app. for a perm this afternoon. If we need rain around here all I have to do is make an app. to have my hair fixed   App. is in middle of the day, and due to distance I have to go, I won't have much time for to much else today. Which does not hurt my feelings at all. :D So, I am ready for an easy day. Must select a good book to take with me , not a thick one as I know I will want to finish it :D

Hope the rest of you have a day planned with more interesting , if not fun , things in your day.
Whatever you do, enjoy your day, and most of all stay safe. Thoughts and prayers for our Sistahs in the gulf area, so glad to hear from you Vickie, wanted to cry for you, I have never lost all in a flood, and praying you don't again in this one. Carolyn, where are you? Martha, are you ok? So many of you effected, prayers for all.

Gotta get movin'
Take care all,
CArol :)

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Another beautiful sunny day here in FL, although we do need the rain others of you are getting. My friends have gone to the beach for the day, so the dogs and I will have a quiet healing day again. So far the weather has been just perfect for them. We all went swimming at the pool yesterday afternoon, and I spent a lot of time in the nice hot jacuzzi with the jet against my sore ribs----how good it felt! I know I am getting better as I could actually worm my way into my bathing suit and out of it. I can even bend over enough now to scoop up dog poop in my sandwich bags rather than trying to hitch it into a shovel with my foot. I love knowing I will actually be healed some day, as I had my doubts for the past week.

The nasty storms across the country are very troublesome and it's scary for me to know just how fast our climate is changing. It was 85 dregrees back home in Lake Placid yesterday-----the same as it was down here in Orlando! That is unheard of for back there, even in July, usually. I watched a lot of National Geographic TV last night about those recording the ice sheet melting and glacier retreats and whatnot, and those scientists studying and making time-elapse videos of what's happening are getting more and more concerned about what is to come. We need to take notice and stop poopooing the facts before we find ourselves retreating to higher ground.

This morning I will go to the bank and make a mineral rights deposit, pick up Molly's heartworm meds for next month (they are short of that med down here, so they are doling them out monthly) and get a few supplies at Publix that I was unable to find at Winn Dixie yesterday.

Please all of you keep an eye to the sky and be ready to move if necessary. I am anxious for Vickie and Ronnie where the flooding is becoming critical again.

Happy travels!

It's a nice sunny day here for a change. It will probably be back in the 80's later. My poor ficus tree will probably make it back outside today. I don't think my area is in any danger of flooding. The river that passes this way is full but they haven't said anything about flooding here. The area that flooded from the first big rain is about 40 miles North and they still have water that hasn't drained off yet. I'm sure the last rain didn't help. The only good thing is that it picked up a little speed and got out of here. It looks like it stalled out again in Alabama. I don't think Vickie and Ronnie are safe yet. Last night the news said that the water was still rising in West Calcasieu Parish.

Last night I went to eat boiled crawfish with a friend. I saw the evidence of the storm with trash piled by the roads. It looked like most of it was tin from barns and the small metal sheds.

Soos, glad you are feeling better. It would be nice to have a place to swim but it's not quite that warm yet.

I need to go find another coffee maker. The old one I am using must be boiling off some of the water. I put the water for 10 cups and end up with 8???? It isn't leaking on the counter so don't know where else it's going. I think I remember the reason I quit using it in the camper was because it was putting steam on the cabinet.

We just had a rain front move through, a bit of thunder which caused great concern with the little dogs, Charley doesn't pay any attention to storms but the little ones want either in my lap or as close as possible. I've been up since 5:30, woke to the sound no furry owner wants to hear, little Winnie was throwing up and the long lost missing cushion button appeared! I cannot believe she could have got it down, her mouth is so small I can hardly get a finger in to give her a pill. More puzzling is WHY she ate a metal backed button that is almost as big as a quarter!! Thank goodness it didn't get lodged anywhere and cause an obstruction or that it didn't choke her!

I've been trying to set up Apple TV with no luck so a friend is stopping by to see if she can figure it out. I don't know if I'm going to like it or not, got a free one month subscription to Netflix but movies have never held much interest for me. She says the list of documentaries is really terrific though. Guess I'll try it, can always return it if not. I have to go to the dreaded Wally World, ACK I seldom go there but I need a new ceramic heater and they have a good sale. Ours is a little better than it used to be but I still will only go in the day light it just doesn't feel safe.

Doing the happy dance this morning: received closing papers to give bank for my condo sale, got word that my motorhome loan had been approved, and this morning discovered that not only had my regular paychecks been deposited, but I got a deposit for January and February back-payments for Social Security!! Should also very soon be getting a SS check for March!

Yea!! I will have a downpayment and can even start paying down the motorhome loan!

What SS did was determine because of my age and that I had already earned my full credits for 2011 and would only earn the rest of 2012 by next January. So there was no reason why I should not be applying for Jan instead of June as I had planned to do. I did not know that could happen. Also, what is REALLY incredible is that they did all of this Mon-Wed of this week, after I applied last Friday!! I figured it would take weeks to get a check and the back amount! Guess our government can do things right sometimes. :D :D :D :D

So now I need to call the dealer and work out the remainder of the details and drive my check down there for a deposit. They will have to store it for a while, however, but I can't believe all of this is really happening!!! I've struggled working two jobs for so many years, I guess this is my reward!

Good Morning,

Well, no flooding for me. Thank goodness! I did get alot of rain and wind, but the water did not come up high enough to flood my home area. We were fortunate the second storm did not pan out to be as first thought. :D

Yay, Judy! That is great news!

I got to my dd's near Augusta, GA yesterday. Today did some errands...Walmart stop, UPS store to mail paperwork to insurance co., and a "deluxe" bath and grooming for Simba in preparation for his return to pet rescue, which will occur on Sunday afternoon. Got done just in time for the skies to let loose. When I returned to the RV, I discovered I have a leak in the seal around my fantastic fan. Put a dishpan under it and returned to spend the night at my dd's house in anticipation of a stronger weather front coming through later tonight. Now I have one more thing to add to my RV repair list....feeling like Alice. I guess I had better have them redo the seals on all three vents before having the vent covers put on. And check any other seals up there. Got all those appointments set up in FL next week.

Hope everyone is safe.
