Thursday Again !!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday Again !!!

Postby Carolinagal » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:23 am

Good morning, little overcast this morning, but good day to mow, before the storm hits here. My grass will be waist high, if I don't get it all done today. Growing so fast already this year. Arranged to have neighbor young man mow for me while I am gone this summer. He wants to buy a 4 wheeler, has to buy it himself, so its a nice arrangement for us both.

Besides mowing, just more of the same here, clearing clutter. Although, it looks like I am making matters worse, have so much pulled out and just setting there.

Maggie amazes me, even though I know she sees so little, I still find it so hard to believe. There are little signs, but without being told by her dr. I still would never have guessed . Then too, its something we don't want to look for.

Have a good day everyone, Those on the road, stay safe, but enjoy the scenery as you go. So glad to hear from those who have already weathered this storm thats coming. Hope most of it has tamed down some, before it gets this far east.

Take care all,
CArol :)

Good Thursday morning to you CArol... that is a great thing to buy with the lawn mowing money... so often things are given to children without a thought...
It will be hot here but this morning is humid and cool... the birds are singing and the sun is shining... coffee is good also...

I believe today will hold sorting out the larger storage bin outside... I want to pack away things that I did not use this winter that will make room for the more important things... I always wonder why I bring so many things... guess I think there is not a store in FL...

I have a feeling that those of you heading for the far north this summer are sorting and resorting things to take... oh what an adventure you all will have; some of you for more than once have gone that way!!!

Time for another cup of coffee and on to read more posts...
Let the sun shine wherever you are and a smile light your face...

I am off to get my teeth cleaned and then (gulp) I am driving the Short Baby Bus up the big highway toward Columbus and leaving her to get some work done. They are going to extend/redirect the rear exhaust pipe to the side so that if/when I carry a rack on the hitch (like to AK) I can use both sides of the rack without fear of melting things carried on the rack. They are going to scratch their heads and see if there are studs accessible in the back framing of the vehicle that they can attach the new to me spare tire to. The will repair the leak in the sky light above the show in the bathroom the my husband told me was "just a bad seal" but even I can see is a crack in the plastic besides.... And the what I have really be wanting to have done for a couple of years....they are going to take out the cheap cabinets in the front overhead, insulate the entire cab-over area, put a simple frame around it for me and leave it open. I can come up with a curtain later and a cargo net for safety. I will be able to use it any way I chose and will not be limited to what items fit into those small spaces. An inflatable kayak should fit up there just fine! Well, if not back on the rear rack! I love choices!

Everyone have a good day!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It looks like it is gonna be a beautiful, beautiful day today!! Sun is shining but it's still a tadish cool in the trailer. Nothing much planned for today except some cleaning. Oh and I have to get the new sewer hose and water hose hooked up. Hard to believe we haven't dumped the black tank since we left AZ. But then again we haven't spent a "whole" lot of time in the trailer either. ;) I did have to fill a couple of gal jugs with water last eve tho so it's time to finish hooking up. Today is the day that the guy in the #1 site should be pulling out so that we will be able to use the metal steps that will be available. :)

Kelly left at 10:20 to do her first day cleaning! Will be so nice having a free site this season. She will also be looking for another job to work evenings. I think that I will have her wait on that a little be longer tho. Let me start at Dollywood first and learn what days off I will have so that we both can have the same days off. I think we both have high hopes for this season. I told Kelly that the one thing that I am gonna do this year without fail is go to Cherokee and see "Unto These Hills". As often as I have been to Cherokee I have never gone. This year I will go no matter what!!!

Played groomer yesterday. I think Shade is finally done blowing her coat so brushed her with in a inch of her life. Worked on the mats she always gets behind her ears and she is now mat free. Trimmed up her britches and around her feet too. She looks like a skinny new dog now! Also did some 'grooming' on Kelly too. She has been bugging me to trim the long feathery hair on her neck and shave it so now she's done too. Ended up scrubbing the heck out of our picnic table last eve just before it got dark. Was checking out the table when I took Shade out this morn and it looks a whole lot better now. Will put the table cloth on the picnic table today. Wish I had something or could figure out what to use on the table under the cloth. I hate the cracks that picnic tables always have in them. Filling out some pprwork yesterday on the table I used a piece of cardboard to give me a good surface to write on.

As far as I am concerned except for it being unlevel this is near a perfect site for us. Only thing that would be an improvement was if the bathrooms were a little closer. But we are way down in the lower corner, only one other trailer on our door side. But we are close to the creek, close without being next to the dumpsters and there is a nice big hay field right behind us for Shade. I take her there and let her run. After our traveling to get here and having to keep her on a leash since then she really went nuts when I turned her loose in the field!! She was so happy to have the freedom and spent a bit of time simply running around in big circles!  Tho she did find something to roll in. Have no idea what the heck it was??? At least she doesn't stink! :D But maybe I will give her a bath today?

OK, off to do some reading and catch up. Hope your day is blessed with all good things and please remember to do all safely.

Love to all

HAPPY THURSDAY TO ALL!

I have finally got my pain meds down to a schedule I can follow without much difficulty, so when I finally got up this morning for the final time, I can honestly say I am feeling less pain today! I am down to taking 4 200 mg ibuprofens three times a day now----7:00 am, 3:00 pm, and lastly at 11:00 pm. I am able to move around a bit now in between doses, and I sure can tell when the time for taking the next dose is at hand, as it is now!

I had to pack up and leave St. Cloud and now I am back home, doing a laundry and trying to make me a bed I can get in and out of and still leave my company room to be comfy, too. I think I can handle a flip and flop on top of the chaise section of my sofa sections, with three pillows and a light cover. I even leaned down to empty my porta potty this morning! JOY JOY! I just remember that ribs take a helluva long time to heal, and that the healing time is extremely painful.

I still have a lot of things to do before I leave here for the homeward trek in April. If the stormy season is bad when I am supposed to head for that SC GTG, I will need to opt out. Please do not count on me for doing anything if I do go, nor count on my cooking anything, or eating anything cooked by others. I will be happy to just meet up with friends and sit for spell on my way home. I have absolutely no desire to see anything in the Charleston area, or go anywhere. I may need someone to unhitch me if I need to shop with my truck, as my equalizer hitch bars weigh a small ton. Perhaps by that time, another month only, I will be able to lift something. We shall see.

Alice I love your pics of Abby! She is one attractive pup, and seems to love to be close to you on your lounge chair! I look forward to seeing Liz while she is here.

Time for meds, now, almost, thank gawd!

Afternoon all. We had at least 6 inches of rain the first two days of the storm, lost the lights for a few hours and had some flooding. We had some T storms yesterday and more rain today. At least we are out of the fire danger that was hanging around for months. So for you ladies in LA and MS, you probably have about 2 more days of stormy weather. Sorry for sending it your way, but that is the way it goes.

Great to hear that Echo and Kelly are getting settled in. I can read how happy you are to be back east. Safe travels Liz and all other sistahs traveling.

Soos, keep taking it easy. Remember, you want the ribs to heal quickly.

GA sunrise on the road.
I was awake at 4 a.m. So, got on the road before daylight, and beat the Atlanta rush hour traffic. Wasn't my plan, but it worked. Arrived at my destination....COE cg near my dd's near Augusta a little after 9 a.m. It's clouded up for awhile, but is beautiful now. Expect the rain will catch up to me by tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a day full of accomplishments.

If anyone has heard from VickieP, please update us.

Soos, so glad to hear from you. Hope you do heal well and fast, so your trip back north won't be to much for you. Take care !!

Liz, glad to hear you are setting tight now, expect the storm here tomorrow also.

Mowed the whole yard today, first of many mowings for this year. Hopefully I am not doing many of them. You all are going to get the idea, I am lazy :D uuummm.

Nice to hear from both of you, now if we could hear from more that are in the middle of that mess thats heading this way.

Well, had started and posted Morning Coffe this morning, but then noticed later this afternoon, that Carol had also started a thread, so decided to must move mine over here. Not much new around here today. Possibility of some rain showers, but more likely late this evening and into the weekend. We really need it. Downside of that will be that the grass is really gonna take off, so I think mowing season is going to get started early this year. But the fire danger is High to Very High in the areas subject to that, so we really need the rain.

Good workout at gym yesterday. 6 more classes and I will have to stop till next fall. Gonna miss that, although with the weather getting nice, I probably wouldn't be going as much, as I would want to be outside doing other things.

Sassy and i will be heading to our vet's office in about an hour here. She is do for the annual heartworm check. Tessa got her's when she went in for the dental cleaning and I have alraedy submitted the annual stool samples So we shall be administering the stuff again, starting April 1st. I don't need to keep them on heartworm meds Dec. - March as the winter keeps the peksy bugs out of here.

Glad to hear that everybody down in the storm/flood areas are doing okay, or were as of yesterday. I won't ask you to send the rain up, cause it's on it's way from that direction. For those still in the path of this line of storms/rain, keep safe.

Liz, sounds like you are rolling right along. Should be back to your daughters in no time and then taking Sport off to the shop for a list of needed repairs etc. Give you time to regroup before you set off on your journey to AK.

Well, time to be off here and check a few more posts here and there. See what everybody's up too. Want to wish you all a Nice Day.

Late checkin, had to run to town & pick up some last minute things before we get stuck from the rising rivers. The few Sistahs that have been to our house might remember where you turn off Hwy. 27 onto Houston River Rd headed to the 4-way Stop, that road is underwater, rising a foot an hour. From the 4-way where you turn right on Claiborne, the water is just a few feet from going over the road where the drainage ditch crosses, this ties to the subivision drain that runs on the south side of our property. We will keep a watch for the water in that ditch, the river isn't supposed to crest till maybe Sunday. My BIL & nephew came today & unstopped my washer drain so I'm getting all the laundry done in case we have to move Into the rv. With help, we can probably get most things raised if it starts coming in the house & we have flood Insurance, I just don't know if I can go through a flood rebuild again. Losing things isn't what bothers me, since we lost most sentimental things last time. Well, I, WE appreciate the thoughts & prayers, I'll check in when I can.

Vickie you and Ronnie are for sure in my prayers and Kelly's too.

Losing sentimental things hurt a lot, I know I've been there. But the aftermath hurts a great deal too. The clean up after a flood can be overwhelming. And seem like a insurmountable obstacle. But I have no doubt you have the grit that it takes to get the job done. Hold tight my friend!!!

Sounds like a not fun at all time for you guys...yup, I remember that road, hard to believe it's under water. Stay safe, MF, and prayers and good thoughts going out to the flood gods that you stay high and dry. Wish there was something I could do to help you out besides hope and prayers. {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}

So, I'm not complaining at all about the rain we're getting here in Sarasota. Hoping all goes well. Have been thru quite a few hurricanes over the years. The wating and prepping is NO FUN! Know that this isn't the way you wanted to use the rv. carold
