All righty now----I called my son and Melissa when I realized I had lost my wallet, on top of the pain and company coming tomorrow! They came over, bringing some pain killers, helping me move stuff back into order after I looked from about 8:00 am on for my wallet----took things apart about 5 times. I had finally decided I must have tossed a bag I got at Publix the last time I shopped and that nobody would ever find it and be able to use it as they mash the trash here. My bank accounts and credit cards showed no action, so I felt pretty sure nobody had picked it up. I also called Publix to see if anyone had turned it in. No dice, so about then I broke down and just sobbed----which hurt my ribs more!
Anyway, after looking into the one bag I had already looked in 5 times today, Weldon found the wallet in the one outside pocket I didn't check!! I had already called my Chase Credit Card to get it replaced, as I needed a valid credit card to replace my driver's license. They were wonderful and told me I should get the new credit card by Monday or Tuesday. Glad I didn't call any more places to cancel things out! Now I need to write down all that info as I knew I should have a long time ago.
I had the kids feel my ribs, and nobody could feel any broken ends or slippage of loose ends, so I decided to wait it out and just use the heating pad they brought and the pain cocktail, which One of the ORSers told me about to try. I am already so very much better now that I have my wallet in hand!
I suspect about three to four cracked ribs, with no loose ends, and it will take forever for them to feel better, as I only too well remember from the last time I did this. Very little swelling, some bruising, but nothing alarming that needed an ER visit. If I take it easy, I should be fine by about November! Hitching and unhitching the trailer will be out of the question until healing of sorts takes place.I promise to go to the doc if things don't get slowly better after a few days. As someone said, they would only tape me up and prescribe me some pain meds anyway, and, what with x-rays, say "Yep-----you have a couple of broken ribs so take it easy" and charge my insurance company (if I could find an x-rayer allowed by my company) thousands of bucks. I am giving myself a few more days.
First I am going to get Dinah in, feed both dogs, and try to get into some comfy position to allow the pain killers and heating pad to work their medicine. Hope all is well out there on the roads...I am off to bed to see if I can get any sleep.
