Expanding the Strip

We have not done too much around the Strip - just drove down it once after all the rain. As always Vegas is growing. On the strip they are building a giant mega building complex called City Center. They were leveling the ground when we left here 1 1/2 years ago. It is supposed to all be done in about a year. All the buildings at once. Right now there are 8200 construction workers working 3 shifts 24 hours a day to finish it. For those of you familiar with the Strip it is between the Monte Carlo and the Belliago. Will employee lots of people when it is done.

Rained for 2 and 1/2 days now it is 70 degrees out - beautiful. Have only gone in the Wynn casino so far to look around. Want to go in the Belliago to see the Christmas decorations. Maybe later today. We don't gamble so we just look around.

Doesn't look like they will finish those buildings in another year. But amazing what these contractors can do in a short period of time. Great pictures.

cool pictures, I might be the odd duck but I find building sites very interesting, umm,
I guess its how they do it that intrigues me. I've never been to vegas and I live so close
it seems ridiculous not to have been. I'm not a gambler either but would enjoy seeing
the aquariums and other exhibits some of the casino's have, and just to clarify, "not
a gambler" I do enjoy it but I refuse to sit there and feed my money into someone
elses bank. I have been known to take a $20 bill and play the penny machines all
day at Harrahs in Maricopa though. I've not come back with more than I started though.

Yep, me too... "not a gambler".... but I did win $95 in Biloxi , MS, at The Grand,... (before Katrina) ... probably spent $65 to get it, over two visits. Then took the $95 and took my DH ( now X ) out to dinner,... had precious little after going out,... and notice he's now my X... HAHAHA.....

I became a big gambler on my Alaska Cruise last summer. Started with 100 plays on a penny machine. Cashed my winnings and then played them out and quit, $1.00 poorer.

That electronics store looks like an interesting place to browse...or at least walk in and out a few times.
