Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Morning!

Good morning everyone!

I'm here in Barbzeee's Kitchen with the coffee perking,... and putting out some goodies for our morning coffee group. How about some waffles and that famous maple syrup my son makes? Of course for those wanting something to "dunk" we have our jar of Biscotti in the middle of the table.

so gather round friends, grab a mug and sit a spell ...... Let's watch the sun come up and ease into the day!

The coffee smells good Cedar. I'm up before daylight and just let Tobey out. I'm grabbing a cup of coffee and I got some raspberry coffee cake I picked up yesterday at the store. Rainy outside here---good day to stay inside.

Great moning here. Grabbing coffee. My company has finally gone home, aaahhhh the peace and quiet of the morning. It is suppose to rain here today, and turn back cold.

But yesterday was a very good day the Gators beat FSU, so we are a champion team indeed. That's for those of you that follow college football. Fernie I know the Tenn Volunteers basketball is your choice, but revel with me in this sunshine. (Laughing)

Going to try to salvage my house after all the company, floors need attention again, ever notice how much stuff gets dropped on the floor? Sheets to be washed and stuff tidied up.

Ya'll have a wonderful day.

Gooood Morning Sistahs!!!

Got my coffee clutched in both my hands this morning. I was so pooped out last night I went to bed a little after 10pm. Set my alarm for my usual time of 5:30am. Then realized I didn't have to get up that early so reset it for 8 1/2hrs. I was still dead to the world when the blasted thing went off!  So I've been up since just before 7am. I've been a slug this morning. They wouldn't let us out of work early yesterday, they made us stay until 7pm for that 2hrs of overtime. Then they wanted us to stay until 9pm! No freaking way. &*%#$ boss over billed BOA on hours again and they have come up short. This is our regular weekend to work but they had made it mandatory for night shift people to come in and do 8hrs yesterday. Guess what? Not very many of them showed up. Again!!! And the ones that did come in? They came in late and left at 5pm. This is an on going problem with night shift. One of the more than few rumors going around at work is that a few of the employees have contacted the labor board, BBB and BOA. Labor board about the mandatory overtime, not giving enough notice about it, cutting lunch time back to 30min just as they are sending people out on lunch. Screaming and cussing out employees on the call floor then laughing about it when the employee goes to HR about it. Threatening employees with write ups and deviations about lunchs and overtime. Not sure why they have contacted the BBB? And BOA? From what I understand and I've heard it before BOA mandates our wages at $11 per hour but ACT only pays us $8 per hour. I do know that the Sprint Call Center in Bristol pays $11 per hour so why is there such a difference in pay between the 2 places. And we also have a Sprint department too. It might be interesting to see where this goes. :D Wonderful place to work!! LOL But Kelly and I might have a line on a couple new jobs so please keep your fingers crossed for us. We have been sending up good vibes to the cosmos ourselves for the jobs!

Raining here, started yesterday. It's rather nice in a way. I've been out on the back porch with my coffee just enjoying the peace and quiet. Other than a little noise from the highway the only other sound is the rain hitting the patio umbrella that is out there. Reminds me of being in a tent. No people up and making noise, no dogs barking, the outside dogs are snugged up in their dog houses. It's just nice out there and the rain adds to the ambiance. I like it this morning it seem soothing to the spirit.

We work today 12 to 9. There had been talk of us getting off early but???? Hard to tell with that place, don't know how they are doing on the hours. So we shall have to wait and see. We do have tomorrow off! YIPPIE!!! Do a little running around, pay a couple of bills, maybe pick up a Christmas gift or two now that Black Monday is over with. Yuck I hate Christmas shopping. Hmmm ~x( Don't mind shopping for Birthdays or anything else? But Christmas shopping is on the bottom of my list of least fun things to do. Nasty rude grumpy people!

Well I think I'm gonna grab some more coffee and go back out on the porch. !!!!!! Holy crap!!!! The dang power just went out and scared the billy-b-jeepers out of me! I think it woke the rest of me up! :o

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and please be safe in all that you do.

Love to all

Rainy Sunday in Maryland. My Christmas shopping is finished except for the little one in our family. I am enjoying shopping for her, it has been a long time for toys. I was caught in the toy story playing with a babydoll that laughed when you pushed its stomach. I might buy that for me, nothing like the laughter of a small child. I give pounds of fudge every year for Christmas. I am using a new sugar substitute and need to test it for fudge. I guess I will have to eat it, sigh, I know its a dirty job but someone has to do it. ;)

Good morning ladies
I'm here with my Diet Pepsi - nothing to eat yet. If there were something already made and someone to serve it to me I'd eat, but there isn't so I'll wait :D
I need to get the few little Christmas gifts I bought wrapped so I can mail them out tomorrow. My sister's step kids will be at their house on the 8th so I'd like their gifts to be there for them. I only bought for the little kids this year. My older sister decided that no one has extra money so no gifts for them. I hate that !!! I love giving gifts, but I'm going to stick with what my older sister wants - don't want to go against her wishes. Her kids are 21 and 19 so her family now goes on a big family vacation for Christmas, thats what they do instead of gifts. I wanted to get them something for their trip but she said "please no gifts" !!! So I'm over it.
I'm going to run over to BiMart and get a string of Christmas lights for outside - I put a few lights out yesterday, but they're all white and I need some colors in there.
That's it for me today - I hope you all have a wonderful day

Morning! I'm having some of your coffee but I have to add my chocolate/raspberry Coffeemate. I have never been able to drink my coffee black.
I have been feeling bluesy and that gets me nowhere so I have to pick myself up and keep my mind and body busy. Yesterday I got my Thanksgiving decorations put up and set out some Christmas stuff. I also decided to gift wrap the presents I bought on Black Friday. No, I didn't shop at 5AM but waited unti around 10 and the crowds weren't too bad. I still need a little something for my 12 yr old GD and I should be done!
I talked with my daughter last night and she invited me for Christmas so that will be nice.
Have a great Sunday everyone.

I was feeling so much better yesterday- so went ahead out to dinner with Sparkle and a fellow from my singles forum - my first real food in 3 days (other than broth and a banana) - and oops, - wasn't smart to eat yet. Supposed to be taking Sparkle out again tonight, but going to have to see what the rest of today brings. Right now, I'm not counting on going anywhere, dang it. Hopefully things will get better as the day progresses.

I do not wish this flu on any of you - if you can get the flu shot, do so! I can't take the shot, but haven't had the flu in years, either. Guess it was my turn.

Have a great day all.

Sorry you're still not feeling well Beth - that's no fun !!
I think the flu shot just "covers" respiratory flu, not stomach flu so it wouldn't have helped you ! I could be all wrong, but that's how I think it works.
If the trouble is the type you can handle sitting down (I'm trying to be discreet here !) Have some applesauce - that'll help allot !!!

well good late morning to all, I've actually been up long enough to finish off a pot
of coffee but I needed to do some maintenance on the computer and since the
rebuild I didn't have my adaware anymore. Forgot how long it takes to download
something and then run the scan and then of course there is always the reboot
somewhere in there. Anyway, thats all done, and in the meantime I found my
table, it was hidden under that pile of paperwork.
I actually got woke up this morning by a big rumble noise, and looked out the
window and saw firetruck and ambulance across the street. Not sure which unit
it was for, will hear something from the neighbors later I'm sure.
The weather is cool this morning but it feels fresh so I've had the door open off
and on. Makes me feel like its time to start another afghan, so will probably dig
out my crochet hook and get busy.
I guess thats about it from the desert, ya all have a great day and be safe.

Good afternoon to everyone. Still not used to Pacific Time. Just got up - have been under the weather last few days. Feel for you Beth - it's ugly. Today is supposed to be beautiful here in Vegas - 70 - maybe (if I think I can make it) we'll drive up the mountain and see the snow. Thanksgiving was nice. Youngest son and wife invited us over along with Bill's brother and sister in law. Very nice. Youngest son bought our house when we left Vegas - he has made so many changes to it. Kind of weird to go over there.
Had two days of cold and rain - unusual for this time of year here. Of course the day after we washed and waxed the motorhome.
Finally broke down and got Verizon Air card for internet, being without was driving me nuts. Now I can update my blog....Now to catch up on everything I've missed.

Good afternoon!

I've been up for hours, but have been doing all the chores I put off over this vacation until today-----more firewood, laundry, making turkey soup, and then following the violent weather in the Orlando area of FL as my kids are driving home to there today from GA. I've been on and off the phone with them, keeping them informed of where the tornadoes have touched down....at least two that I noticed. They are having to land the shuttle in TX, I guess, as the weather has been too horrible there. I hope anyone we know in FL is weathering that nasty weather with no dire happenings.

Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well, Beth. And Mollysmom is right on....the flu shot is for influenza-----respiratory flu only. Stomach bugs are not covered, nor are they technically FLU at all. People have called the stomach upsets flu over the years, but they are not. And there are no vaccines for such unpleasant illnesses! Once you have an infection in your gut/intestines, however, it takes quite a while for your body to roust them and attack them in order to feel better. Live yogurt helps restore the helpful critters that normally live in your intestines, and drinking plain, clear fluids such as ginger ale, seltzer, and sometimes, when your stomach part is able to keep anything down, liquids like pedialyte or the adult form of that stuff are good to help you stay hydrated. Getting dehydrated is a major concern when your body is not keeping ANYTHING down or in. Solid foods should be avoided in the beginning-----then only things like dry toast or mild crackers-----NOT seafood! :)

I have been having coffee all morning while construction my soup. Then I to sample that for my lunch! It is SO GOOD, if I do say so myself!

I weakened yesterday while grocery shopping, again....I bought another 3 pistachio muffins and one orange-cranberry one! Also had one of those for breakfast!

Time to fix the fire again.....happy Sunday, everybody!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
