Wet Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 12, 2012 7:42 am

Good Morning all,

Is everybody up and at em and ready to tackle their day? Breakfast is in the tummy here, french toast and sausage topped off by a small bowl of sliced peaches. I have bread and sausage or bacon here if anybody would like to have some. Milk, water, hot cocoa and tea for veverage.

What a difference a week of warm weather has made around here. Last week at this time I was posting pictures of the Major snowstorm that we had here: Image and this week it's a whole different story: Image. Everybody's amazed at how fast the snow has gone. Actually although that storm hit last weekend, we started into a warm up on Wednesday and literally wiped out what snow came in the storm. Now we are back into another major warm up and rain is moving in. I expect that by the end of this week, our snow will be gone except for where it's piled or deep drifted. That Major storm of last weekend now looks like it is the worst snowstorm to hit Northern Michigan since the Blizzard of 78. It's but a memory now.

Gym day today and then since it's going to be a gloomy day, I am going to change my bed, do a load of washing, pull off the plastic storm windows in my breezeway and put the last coat of Poly on my Spring Welcome sign which will be heading outside next week on the first day of Spring.

Irmi, I am sorry to hear about all the health issues your parents are having. It's hard watching older folks have so many problems when they are so looking forward to their "golden years". I am so glad that I was here for my dad after mom passed away, cause it gave him companionship and somebody to do things with and help hin out when he needed it. We had 8 fun years together after mom died. Hard to believe that your and Kathleen are going to be heading for home this week. Time has certainly flown.

Sarah, it sounds like you are so in love with Magic. I just know that you will be out and about soon as you have the time to do it.

Echo is making plans to head for home this week. Want to wish you and Kelly as safe, enjoyable and trouble free trip back to TN. I just know the homecoming will be so joyous and that you are going to be so happy to return. A job waiting, a campsite waiting. What more could one ask for. Well, maybe a nice new shiny rig, but that will come :)

Well, I must be off here and get cleaned up to leave for gym. Have a wonderful day all, if you are traveling, please be safe.

Glad your snow is melting so fast Sue, you will feel like it is springtime. We have full blown spring here, even my pear trees are blooming. I sure hope our normal weather doesn't return, we usually have a snow storm in March but it has been so strange so far this winter, who knows what this year will bring.

I think I have hives ACK!! I was taking medicine for a UTI and started feeling itchy, thought it was dry skin at first, then I had some red spots, thought they were bites but couldn't figure out what then I finally realized, it's probably hives. I stopped taking the medicine and took some Benadry & I didn't get any more spots but they still haven't gone down. Checked with the doctor this AM and they are changing my prescription. I have so much trouble with any medication it's hard to find one I can take, but never I've had hives before.

I'm trying to stall the dogs breakfast, they haven't switched to daylight time yet, I haven't either ;)

Safe journeys to all on the road. Sounds like Echo and Kelly are just about set to pull out tomorrow, glad their tail light problem was figured out.

Good Morning Ladies... a beautiful sunny day here in Ocala... after a day of rain it feels much better with the sun... my old body was aching bad yesterday but this morning it is much better... oh how the sun helps...

Yes Sue it is hard on Irmi... she has helped her parents and sister so much and now another burden she is facing... please everyone that prays pray for her and her family...

I am moving to another park on Sat for a month... testing it out... it is $120 cheaper than this one so maybe I can deal with the sand... a month will give me a good idea for sure... they have many activities as well as a Bible study and church service... it will be interesting to check things out... no bath house and one washer and one dryer in a 'shed'....

Liz waiting for a report on your new home and also the insurance... hard to say they always want their money on time or they charge a penalty but when they have to pay out they do wait as long as they can... know it will turn out in the end... oh Jeanne told me they have a concert at the church the last Friday of the month... I am hoping to go...

My friend will come and take me to set up my stay this morning and maybe we will go to lunch...

Sat the man that fixed my grab bar last year came over and installed a stainless steel with stainless steel bolts on the other side but inside so I have something to grab when I come in... it is wonderful to have that as the chair is no longer there to steady myself...

I trust each of you will have a great day... may your feet always walk on higher ground!
Kathleen

I just got a call from my daughter Jackie... the biopsy show NO cancer... I am so happy!

CONGRATULATIONS to Jackie and her mommy, Kath! What wonderful news!

Sue, I am happy to see your post this morning, as I don't think I saw anything yesterday , and the day before I had no internet after the storms passed through here and knocked out our power. You sure have had a lot of melting this this week! I hope to get into the ORS chatroom tonight...I am staying here in St. Cloud another night to allow the dogs some freedom to run and playh untethered. The past two days have been too rainy and cold to have any fun out there!

I hope that TX has some sunshine today, too, for those GTGerers who are still there! I brought Melissa's WiMi thingy out here to the trailer so I can use the internet right where I am the most comfy!

Hope everyone has a great Monday and that the sun will shine upons us all!

Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Sitting here swilling coffee trying to get my eyes open all the way and to get them to focus. Gads I was so tired last night. I remember laying down, scratching Shade's belly but that's it! For all I know I just might have fallen asleep with my hand on her belly!! But now I need to get my motor running to start the day. Gonna throw some chicken in the crockpot for supper so that I don't have to monkey around later fixing something. Will be grateful for that later when I'm done for the day and pooped out.

Excited as we are I don't even want to think of what all we need to get done and accomplished today. Sooooo very glad that the neighbor brought over the other guy as I still haven't heard a peep out of the first guy. I guess I shouldn't complain as he did change my oil and did do the transmission. ;) I have a list of stuff to be done today.
First start supper, clean out back of truck, go to little reservation store to pick up a couple things and get gas, stop on the way into town and see about buying that rim so that I will have a spare, grab plastic pallet, clean out storage room and pack it into the back of the truck, get spare tire mounted on rim, (hopefully), come home and finish ripping out couch, get things arranged, OH DANG Kelly has to blow up air mattress and check for leaks!!! That does it, I'm all tired out already!  But get it done we will. Not sure exactly what time we are pulling out tomorrow tho. Will get the trash can out to the road, Kelly has to call Express web to cancel the internet and get them over here to take the thingy off the trailer, will pay the utility bill and shut it off on the way out! Need to stop at WalMart when we get to Page to renew my scripts and get a couple small propane tanks for the lanterns so that we will have light in here when we 'boondock' in a parking lot or rest area as I don't have a battery on the trailer. Have already got one of my trailer tanks filled with propane. Geeze? I'm already tired out for tomorrow too I think!

OK, I'm gone outta here! Hope everyone has a super great day and stays safe.

Kathleen!!! That is fantastic news about your daughter. WOO HOO!!!

Love to everyone

The Weather Channel tornado warning alert just went off and I thought not again but it's the one from last night. We were under a warning until after mid-night. The bad weather came through about 11 and the lightning hit close enough to knock 2 of our breakers off 3 times. It is raining just North of us and the Weather Channel says parts of I-49 are closed because of flooding. Our rain gauge showed 2 inches but it had to have been more than that. It was blowing so hard the rain was probably going sideways.

Echo, I'm glad you finally got your lights working. Hope you get everything done on your list today. No matter how ready I think I am to hit the road I still find too many things to do. I found a tent light at Walmart that has 24 led lights and works off 4 AA batteries. It puts off a good bit of light. I haven't used it enough to know how long the batteries will last.

I made an appointment to get my generator looked at on Thursday. I need to call the place and see if they can work on my King Dome satellite. They sell a different brand but they all probably work the same. The last time I had it worked on the place said they had trouble getting the parts because it is so old so may have to replace it. It's always something.

Good afternoon, everyone!

I'm late with it being morning, but hey - at least it's still Monday!

Had to boogie off to the Meineke place to see about getting the front brakes fixed on the company truck we use for patrols, etc. Darn thing didn't pass inspection because of the brakes. Got approval to spend the $$ on it for the work, so I'll toodle up there again tomorrow morning. Then it was CPR paperwork and, more importantly, a phone call this time to the NJ SPCA regarding an issue I keep seeing nearby. I had reported it once via the SPCA's Web site and then there seemed to be no more of the said activity at the location for a few weeks but this morning, here we go again. So it was phone calls while at Meineke and then another when I got home.

The TV ads for animal abuse agencies just rip me apart. Don't know if you have them where you are, but we do here. To see something going on right before my eyes . . . well, I am a rabble-rouser or whatevah, so I have to step up and try to help the poor creatures. Makes my freakin' blood boil. I did get a phone call back from an officer with the the NJ SPCA, so hopefully something will get done. Someone is obviously trafficking animals, prepping them for fighting . . . or something.

Okay, somebody drag me off my soapbox before I just get completely wound up here . . .

Partly cloudy day and it felt chillier than I expected this morning, but it has warmed up a wee bit. No complaints. Looking at rain/thunderstorms tonight/tomorrow.

Got my bike out of the RV basement in getting geared up (pun intended) for Women's Ride Day this coming Sunday. Used to be a decent cyclist but confess I haven't been riding in . . . um . . . a while. So I'm planning on doing the wimpy 10-mile route with a group of gals sponsored by a nearby bike shop on Sunday. Hoping to take back the bike this year and make it "my own" again. Gotta get used to wearing my contacts again, so I'll be doing that some this week. Hope the weather cooperates for Sunday.

Not much else around here. Canada Geese (two pair) are hanging around - grazing, strolling and posturing - and I saw a Groundhog poke its head out of its burrow yesterday afternoon! Haven't seen one totally above ground yet, tho'.

Have a great day. Enjoy and be safe!

I'm so happy for the good news about Jackie, Kathleen. PTL. Glad you will get to spend some time with Molly too. Maybe I will be back in FL in time to take you to the concert. Marge told me about the new pianist playing for us.

I picked up my new- to- me rv today at PPL. It's first trip was down the street to Advanced Auto Parts for some new no- maintenance house batteries. I knew the ones in there were dead, and was buying the rv as is. So everything is working good so far. Drove through rush hour traffic on the interstate in Houston, so guess I can drive it ok. Next I will put new tires on and get an oil change/ service before leaving TX. Didn't hear from insurance co. today, but was too busy to care.

Kathleen, so happy to hear the great news about your daughter! What a relief!

Betty, it is wonderful people like you who help save so many poor animals who are being mistreated, abused and neglected. Too many people ignore stuff like that or just hope that someone else will report it. Hope it gets resolved soon!

Liz, so glad to hear you got your new rig! We need pictures!! And don't give up on Bandit. It took two months before I saw Lola again after she ran off, and two more months before I got her back with me. Hopefully, Bandit will finally go up to someone's house and they will recognize him and call you. Sometimes all you can do is keep praying and wait it out, but just don't give up hope...

Pretty slow at the new shop today but I will be at the other shop the rest of the week. Eventually (so they say... ) I will be at the new shop full time.

My roommate is getting married on May 19th, so I will have a couple weeks after that to get the master bedroom painted and get settled in before they get a new roommate for my current bedroom for June 1st. Can't wait! So much more room for me and Lola! No more tripping over boxes and books! I want to get an aquarium for my new room too.

Better get to bed...(it is almost time to start a new morning coffee thread for tomorrow!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
