Glad that she is giving you a some bright hours to remember her feisty spirit even in these last days ....sounds as if she does like to make her own rules about her journey. Take each day and hour as it comes....take strength and give her your love.

Thanks for the support, everyone. She's still having a good day and chowed down some dinner. She went outside and negotiated her way back up the deck steps (remember folks, she has only one eye and can hardly see) and in through the doggie door. So we'll see how she does tonight.

I'm so sorry, Janice. It is so hard to say goodbye to a faithful companion. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and the days ahead. I just recently said a final goodbye to Roe by taking his remains for one more walk on the beach and scattering his ashes with the wind, the waves, and the sand.

Glad Kiwi has rallied a little today so that you can spent a little more time together.

((((((((((((( Janice )))))))))))))) you know that I'm with you in this difficult decision - to listen, to cry, to give a shoulder.

I feel your pain and it is so hard to go thru. I lost my 19 yo Maine Coon that I had from a kitten due to renal failure from that bad food episode. Was the hardest thing I had to do in my life. We're here for you.

Love,
Sharon

Janice:
My thoughts are with you and Kiwi. You rescued her when she was an older dog and you have nurtured her for the past few years. I know this is a heartbreak, and I know that you wished that you could take the pain away from her. I am praying for your and Kiwi. Let the veterinarian be your guide, if you trust this person. Kiwi knows that you are devoted to her. As someone already said, go with your instincts. Tatjana

Thanks again everyone for your encouragement. So many of us have lost our pets. It's part of having them in our lives.

Kiwi had a seizure-free night; I had a good night's sleep. Right now she's outside having her way with a pork chop bone. So life is good today. Right now. It's all we hae.

I don't want to turn this thread into a puppy death watch. So thank you, again, everyone. When Kiwi's time comes, I'll post a new thread.
