Newbie Saying "Hi"

Postby bonnpon » Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:58 pm

Hi - I'm brand new to the group, and new to RVing as well. Just bought my very first RV; picked it up on Halloween. Have been out a few times, learning the ropes, and really enjoying it! I have a 2012 Thor Four Winds (24-foot). Would welcome hints and tips, meeting up with folks who may be camping here in Florida, etc. I'm working from the road when I travel (via cel phone and mobile hotspot)... am focusing on having fun in the daytime and working at night. Hi and Welcome, Bonnie! Glad to have you with us. There are quite a few from the group in FL right now - and just about every winter. I think a couple are still in the Tampa area - so you could still have a mini gtg, if so inclined (gtg = get together).

Jump in often, anywhere you please. (And we do like pictures).

Welcome Bonnie, Congrats on the new RV. I have looked at them on www.mhsrv.com Get out and see the USA and send us pics. Many of us who don't fulltime and most likely will never see it all, love to see the adventures of those who do. Tell us all about you.

Wow - thanks for the warm welcome! I would love to meet up with other women RVers, around Florida especially. So far I've camped in Melbourne, Venice, Little Manatee State Park, Lazydays and Ft. DeSoto. I travel a LOT for business (both on planes and, hopefully, more in the RV), but when I'm around, I can head out for a few days any time of the week, depending on my schedule. With internet and a mobile hotspot, I'm hoping to work from the road, checking urgent stuff during the day and working more in the evenings after I settle in for the night somewhere.

Hi Bonnie,

Welcome to the forum. Do you intend to stay in FL all year? I am over in central FL, but head to the St. Pete area for long weekends during the summer. Last summer the KOA had half-price weekends during the summer, and they have a great pool and jacuzzi!

Welcome to the forum, Bonnie. I sold my house in Ocala and started full- timing just about a year ago. My daughter lives in Dade City and works in Tampa. I'll be returning to FL in a few weeks for a short while to register my new - to-me rv. There's usually at least one gtg in FL every winter. Hope to meet you on the road sometime.

Welcome to the forum Bonnie. I too live in Florida up near Gainesville. Maybe we can get together at a campground some place. Know you will enjoy your motorhome.
