Yup, that's exactly what I've got on the inside right of my RV entry door. It's just enough for me to keep my balance and doesn't have to bear much weight at all.

ok i found this and put it in... it should hold.. its not like i am putting my whole weight on the bar.. just something to grab on to. it was an adjustable drapery rod,..
Actually, I think that's a very dangerous thing to do, Christine. If it can't hold your weight if you stumble and fall, you could be seriously injured. Plus, it could also do serious damage to your trailer wall.

My husband fell in the bathroom once and grabbed the towel rod instead of the safety grab bar. Tore the whole towel rod out of the wall and he fell anyway. Make sure whatever you put up is anchored properly.
its screwed into studs.... well its the best i could do for now.. i will just have to be careful.. like i said my whole weight wont be on it anyways... just pray i dont stumble... i do have a stick on the other side behind the couch i can also hang onto going down,... will try not to go potty in the nite...LOL
Christine, The former owners of our 5er installed it...so I don't know where they bought it. I'll look around the net some and see if I can find one. I'm leery of that curtain rod too...most curtain rods tend to bend so easy.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
I believe grab bars like that can be purchased at Lowes....maybe even Walmart, but I haven't looked for one in several years. Believe I bought the ones for my dh at Lowes.
I put up a hand rail to use as a towel rack after my son slipped and broke the towel rack when he grabbed it. Now they sell some that are more decorative and look like towel racks. The one that broke was a clear plastic rod and it shattered almost like glass. He's lucky he didn't step on a piece of it and get cut.
