Rise and Shine, It's Thursday !!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rise and Shine, It's Thursday !!!

Postby Carolinagal » Thu Mar 08, 2012 6:24 am

Good morning, Everyone !!!! Slept in a strange bed last night , so I'm up REALLY early  I'm back in N. C., and weather sounds like a wet day before its over. Gloomy outside is what I need. :? First on the agenda is to go through this pile of mail, what a load of junk, but not all and that is the problem. That is first on the list of "to do's", as my daughter and family will be here the week-end to help clear some of this stuff out of here. Its Spring break for them and only time they can come, within the time period that I plan to be here. Sure hoping SIL is up to doing some yard work for me and that the weather will co-operate

I do have my well fixed , had called ahead and when I drove in the yard, they had just finished up. With 5 people coming, sure needed water :P Managed to get my rig serviced for its first time, before arriving back here. I live in the boonies, so had to do that before leaving what everyone calls civilization   where all the good places are for service at least.

My lovely winter passed way too fast, the weather was wonderful and I had a great time visiting with some I hadn't seen for ages, but still soooo many I didn't get by to see. Always next winter to plan on, and then to see what time puts on my schedule :)

Have a Really Great Day All, Those that are on the road, be safe, those who are not, find some fun for yourselves in this day we have been given.

CArol :)

Good morning Carol and everybody! I'm up and, while not shining yet, my eyes are open!

First of all, a big shout out and hug to Mother Earth as She is battered by a huge solar storm beginning today. I think that explains my "off" feelings this week. Yep, I'm a little Earth Mother.

My day's focus is getting George and Gracie (names I have given to my CPR manikins) ready for the CPR class I'm teaching tomorrow.

Image

Gracie is in pink; George in green. The class is at the offices of the company we're contracted to, so that means an early rise of about 4 AM and leaving here around 6 AM. Ugh.

I am NOT an early-morning person, at least not when awakened with an alarm.

My daybed arrangement is set up and I am very pleased so far. I'm now able to store so many things under the bed and rearranged the living room, so we have a much better, open space. YAY! DH likes it too, commenting even just a minute ago about how much better the living room is. I'm sleeping well on it and dreaming again. If you really knew me, you'd understand that dreaming is a big thing for me.

I'll try to get some photos up later today of the daybed.

Have a groovy day and look to the sky for possible auroras! There should be a great show, with the possibility of auroras even in Illinois. We had them in MN, and I sure miss 'em!

Be safe, be well and be good - or at least if you can't be good, don't get caught!

Good Morning Carol, Betty and all who follow,

I too am up and going this morning. Well, I'm up. The going part will be happening shortly. Heading into town this morning to get a cholesterol blood test done and then out for some breakfast since I haven't eaten since 5:00 yesterday afternoon. Don't worry, I'll survive as my body has enough fat reserves to last it all year

Carol, glad you made it home safely and it sounds like you cetainly did enjoy your winter. Now come all the fun of getting things back to normal at home. It will all come together slow but sure.

Betty, that "daybed" idea sounds really neat. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of what you did. It never ceases to amaze me, the creativity of the folks on this site when it comes to personalizing our rigs. I have given thought a number of times as to taking the sofa out of my TT and installing a nice recliner. But the sofa is on a slide out, it also makes into a bed so more than 2 people can sleep in the TT and that's a good selling point for a small TT. Plus this is not my permanent "home on wheels" so to speak. So I am not going to do any modifications to it as I plan to eventually get a different rig. Love the picture of George and Gracie too. Hmmm, now I should bring my paintbrush over and paint them a set of eyes. They already look so real.

Sounds as if the joint TX GTG was a success. Peaople were enjoying each others company, seeing the sights, spending time in camp, and just generally having a good time, not to mention some good food from the sounds of it. Now some will be rolling out toward home today and others will be staying for a while longer.

We have had a major meltdown of snow here since Tuesday night. With temps at 49 degrees when I woke up yesterday morning, highs in the mid 50's and rain last night, needless to say, we have lost the snow that we got in the two big storms last week already. Even the NWS meterologists are amazed at how fast things turned around. All thats left in my yard here, is what snow was here before the storms hit and a lot of bare spots. A bit of a a cool front has come through and dropped the temps back into the 30's for the next couple of days and a bit of light snow expected tonight. But by weekend we are heading back into 40's and way above normal for next week. So looks like bye bye snow. Not that we won't get anymore, but winter's back is broken.

So, time to get cleaned up and head to town, get that test done and get some food. Have a wonderful day everyone and those of you who are on the road, please keep safe.

Sue - you will get a kick out of this. My DBF texted me that he had seen a forecast of where I'm going this weekend and they were predicting SNOW!!! So I had better be prepared. First off, it's snow mixed with rain, it's 2 days before I get there with no freezing temps predicted. Yeah, I'm really worried.

What I am worried about are the thunderstorms that were supposed to all push offshore by tomorrow. Now they are saying rain here until Sunday with some storms still possible Saturday. Ugh! I have to pack and drive through the rain before I hit clear skies.

And I need to pack jackets as well as shorts. The low Sunday night will be in the 30's, the high Wednesday in the 80's.

My paper for my class is essentially done so now I can focus on wrapping up my work week and getting ready for the trip.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Carol, it's good to hear you are home safely, now have water, and to know your house is untouched by the latest weather ravages! Good luck having your family to help you de-stuff a bit more! It was so good to see you again this year at Wekiva, and meet your new home-on-wheels!

I love Mr. and Mrs. CPR, Gracie and George, TxRose! Bet they don't give you much lip, do they? OOooops----on the other hand, I guess that's what they're supposed to do....lots of lips to lips stuff!

Sounds as if spring melting is coming to Sue's place, at least on and off, so enjoy those longer days we have been having lately.

I wish I were back in the north country to view the aurora displays that will be coming from the lastest solar storm----I LOVED laying in the snow, or out on the pond in my rowboat, watching the skies flame like a wild torch, in greens and reds and pinks, and thinking that, with all those "flames" I should be hearing some crackling going on. Nope----just total silence as the skies were alive with fire. It's such an amazing experience to see.

I am going to trim and prune my orange trees and some others near the house this morning with my Ryobi cordless, rechargeable chainsaw. Then off to exercise class and a swim this afternoon at the club pool.

Safe traveling to all who are on the move again, heading back or out from the TX GTG----a huge success from what I have heard from all who were there! Congrats to Bobby and Pete from ORS who got the ball rolling for that amazing group of campers to meet.

Hope Kathy gets good news about her daughter soon.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all! I usually get up early (according to Kathleen!) but this morning I got up too early. Well, around 7. Sun was shining in window and wanted to start this beautiful day, but it feels like ive been up for ages! And I can't go anywhereuntil after my alarm people come back by and put one of my sensors back up where I had a new set of doors installed the other day. Maybe they'll come early and I can engage in my favorite activity for a nice day, "riding around",When my husband was alive, he never really grasped the idea of "riding around". he always wanted to know where I wanted to go! All those heading home, drive carefully. Everyone else, use this lovely day to the fullest. Wendy

Good Morning All

Wendy - can't believe you have sunshine so near me; we have heavy overcast sky with potential for more severe weather moving in late today and overnight - heavy rain, high wind and large hail in forecast and rain straight thru next Wednesday. At least for now the potential for tornados has not been mentioned in the forecast.

Carol - so glad your well got repaired quickly.
Liz - Fingers and toes crossed for you to hear positive news from dealer in Houston about possible new home on wheels.

I did a little more shopping for Magic on Tuesday and introduced her to Nicky. He was less than thrilled but that may have been due to wearing harness - something he is not accustom to having around him. Wasn't able to get down there yesterday as too many appointments. Going back later today after more shopping. This time for dog bed and small rug so Nicky will not slide around so much on floor (glad no carpet but he does need to get some traction underfoot).

I let Magic sit from Sun. to Tues. without attempting to start; she started on first try Tuesday afternoon. Talked to local Ford dealer; he suggested holding off on bringing her in as the problem has not occurred again. I haven't turned anything on except fridge since the converter breaker tripped in Ocala. Will start testing stuff again next week after the storms are gone. I so want to regain confidence in things working properly before going anywhere else.

I want to thank everyone again for helping me get this far toward my new RVing adventure. Extra special thanks to Wedny, Nan, Irmi & Steve, and Carol for getting me thru the first two weeks.

Wishing all a great day.

Is a rainy day here at the Goliad State park. Had rain and sprinkles during the night. Should have rain the next 3 or 4 days. They need the rain, but I love seeing the sun shine. I can hear birds calling out in the woods. One is a male cardinal letting the ladies know that he has the best song in the neighborhood. Another is a Great Kiskadee and he is just calling out to let the world know where he is and that all is well. When driving over yesterday, we noticed that the roadside had some bluebonnets, indian paintbrush, and prickly pear were all out looking nice. Also had a nice small yellow flower that I didn't know the name of it. So will try some photo shots and then will take a look at "driving around" like Wendy.

So I cooked some biscuits and then turkey sausage and 'crambled' an egg. Put blueberry jam (sugar free) on the biscuit. uuummm good. So finishing the breakfast blend coffee and catching up a bit here. Hoping for safe travels for all on the road and great fun for those sitting in a great spot.

Birdie - the wildflowers are out pretty early this year and I'm hoping it's going to be a bumper crop year after last year's disappointing season. I will know more Saturday when I start heading towards Waco.

Also, Birdie - do you like Goliad SP? We stayed there Thanksgiving 2010 and I liked the park but the traffic on, what is it Hwy 183?, was noisy to say the least.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Not a whole lot planned for today just more of what we have been doing for the past how ever many days. Sorting, cleaning and trying to find "holes" to stuff things into. Seems like it's a never ending job!!! But we will keep at it and we will get it all done. I would so love to get it all done and leave here by Monday!! :D

Weather has done it's turn around since the snow the other day. Yesterday was kinda chilly and wooooweeee did the wind blow. To chilly and to windy to go to the storage room yesterday. Gonna have at the back of the truck today to clean it up and have it ready to load up and hit the road. Hmmmm? Got to get another tarp. I've got one but not sure how good the thing is. Will need to grab it from the storage room, unfold it and check it out. Also need to grab the air mattress and pump it up to make sure it still holds air. We are gonna unbolt the stupid sofa and toss that sucker out. It's broke and Kelly's not that crazy about it. She will be sleeping on the air mattress for the trip home. After we get to TN we plan on doing a kind of a daybed thing for her. Will build it ourselves as I want it high enough to put her totes under it and out of the way. I know that somewhere along the line that Kelly will go her own way but for now? Nah, she is doing the deal with me....

Am hoping that everyone has a great day doing whatever it is that you have planned. If your gonna be traveling as always make sure you do so safely!!! Gonna go read and catch up on everyone.

Love to all

Men are just like that. They have to have a destination and then get there as quickly as possible!

Nice weather here in SoCal! My dad says that back in MN they have had record warm temps and will even hit 70 degrees this week there. The lake he lives on is supposed to be open water three weeks early this year. They had to pull the ice fishing houses off early this year too. It should be really nice there when I go back for my visit at the end of April (last year it snowed! ).

Another 6 day workweek for me, but not complaining since the paychecks are nice! I want to get a larger TV for when I move into the master bedroom in May (keeping my fingers crossed). Mine is just a 19" so I want to upgrade to a 32" so I can actually see the screen! I plan to have a little sitting area with a comfy chair, table, bookcase and TV, so I can relax without having to always be laying/sitting on my bed to do everything like I do now (reading, watching TV, paying bills, checking internet, eating, etc.)

Just came back from having breakfast at a local cafe. Pancakes, scrambled eggs and hash browns. It was fabulous but I ended up with a doggy bag since I couldn't finish it all. So that will be my lunch before heading off to work later today.

Hope you all have a great day!
