Daybed

Postby txyellowrose » Thu Mar 08, 2012 8:07 am

Here's the daybed (twin mattress set)!

Bear in mind this is a work in progress. Eventually I want to get a better cover for it - perhaps a quilt and sham set - but for right now I'm using the cover that we had on the sofa. Same thing with the big pillows behind the "moon" pillows - - I'll add/change the pillows when I find what I want. For now, though, it's covered and Maggie has something to perch on so she can see out the window again.

This is in our "super slide" and the dinning table/chairs are to the right of the bed. Across from it is another smaller slide which has our recliners. This really gives us back our space in the living room with so much stuff stored under the bed. Moved the dog crate behind the recliners in the opposing slide, etc. More space, much neater.

Stuffed animals? Well - the bear is a Reiki Bear and Bear is my Power Animal. The wee sheepie - Dave gave that to me when we met for the first time in 2005. Bear and Sheep aren't going anywhere.

So - a work in progress but definitely better so far!

It looks so inviting for a long afternoon read which usually in my case usually includes a nap and a dog snuggle......

A Reiki Bear is a common tool for use as a teaching aide and/or as a proxy for sending distance Reiki. One can purchase them already infused with Reiki and dressed "cutesy." I found my guy locally, took off his silly (to me, anyway) ribbons, etc. Over the years, I have used him as a proxy, for practice of attunements when I was first starting out and after my Karuna training and for use in demonstrating hand positions when teaching online. Indeed, he's just a cuddly guy and, again, Bear is one of my totem animals.

I moved this to "show off your rigs". And LOVE it. Would love to replace my couch with similar. Maybe one day - if I only knew someone handy to do it for me and keep the storage underneath. What you did is great.

Where does one get a Reiki infused bear? Do you do animal Reiki too? I am certified in I and II and Animal Reiki.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hiya Barbie,

Hey, if you are a Reiki practitioner and would like a Reiki Bear, I would encourage you to find a teddy bear who steals your heart (like mine did) and do it yourself! :P

Although not officially certified in Animal Reiki, I have always given Reiki to all creatures great and small.

Had a cat (or rather cats have us, don't they?) once who would ask for Reiki, i.e., I could be doing a self-treatment and Snookums would come paw at me and/or get in my lap, sit on my chest, etc. If I stopped before she was ready, she would paw at me for more.

Baby (1992-2010) was always right in the middle of classes as we would sit in a circle on the floor. During the attunements of one group of students, I was going down the line of seated folks and - cool - there was Baby sitting at the end, right in the line. She received her attunements that weekend, too, and left this Earth as a Reiki Level II Practitioner. Her passing ceremony was by candlelight with Reiki music. But Baby's a whole 'nuther story . . .

Cheers,
Betty

Hi Nan,

Thanks for asking! I'm always ready to visit with folks about Reiki!

Well, close, but it is not massage as there is no manipulation of soft tissue. Although Reiki is now widely accepted as an alternative therapy by many hospitals, cancer centers, pain clinics and the like, I do not consider nor call myself a healer. The only person who can heal oneself is that person. :)

I can and do walk the path with my clients and give tools to my students to use in their own healing process.

While this is in no way a solicitation, you (and everyone) are invited to view a better explanation and overview of Reiki at my Web site:

Peace,
Betty
