Tell about and post pictures of your rigs and changes you make to them.

What are You Towing, Driving etc. Part II

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 05, 2012 6:25 pm

I was just looking through some of the old posts from 2 years ago and I had asked what all of you were towing or driving at that time. Was thinking that maybe it's time for another go around, since we have gotten so many new members since then and some of the older members have gotten new rigs. It would be fun to see who's got what. Might also help out those who are "looking for that dream rig".

So, I will start off. I am currently towing a 2011 Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S TT with a 2011 Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The trrailer is about 22 ft. all total including hitch and has a slide out.

Our rig is a 2010 Keystone Montana Hickory Edition 3585SA (rear kitchen). The 5er is 38' long and has three slides.

We (rather I, since I do the towing) tow with a 2008 Ford F350 Lariat crew cab long bed SRW.

Got the Montana new, the truck used with only 20k miles on it when we brought it home back in 2009.

This is the 2009 Montana we had originally and now we have the same model, only a 2010, so it's basically the same.

Sometimes I look at our rig and think, "OMG, I actually drive that big thing!!"

Sweet.

See if someone can paste a link here to the old thread....since many of us are driving the same rigs and even the old combinations might be interesting to newbies.....

I'm driving a 2002 F-150 Supercrew (4 door) pulling a 2010 KZ Sportsmen Classic 16BH. The truck is my daily driver and I haul the dogs around in the backseat, well, with the seat down.

I did not want to post a thread to the original post because after reading it, it got off on the wrong track with comments made to one of the members about her van and trailer and she got mad, which cause a few other comments and Beth finally locked the thread. So it's time to start over again. There were hardly any rigs listed in the old thread before that happened. In a way, i guess I should have posted this to the "Show off Your Rigs" section rather than General Talk.

Maybe Beth can transfer this to "Show off Your Rig" Section for us.... ;)

But since you asked and for the New Sistahs'....Here's our "Home on Wheels"...

Both were bought NEW.....we prefer to purchase new, when we can, rather than used....as we rather deal with the manufacturers/dealers if/when things go wrong...(in other words, very bad experience with used...). I believe we are the only ones here with an Open Range RV....They are a fairly new RV company, about 4 yrs. old....and have a great track record, so far, for standing behind their products, and customer service is A-1......they make TT, large & small, to include park models, 5th wheels, large, med, & small, along with a line of "Light" TT & 5th wheels which are perfect for the F150 type trucks...we have had folks with MHs tell us that we have alot of the same features that are offered in the coaches.....and the quality is outstanding for the money....

Our Tundra....well, it's the best truck we've ever own....rated for 10400# for towing/hauling....

Lots of research has gone into both....
Okay, I'm done with my "sales pitch" ;)

I'm towing a trailer with my truck. :)

Somewhere I will find the pictures I entered here before and try to post them again. If I can't find them---oh well! There is a whole room devoted to showing off our rigs----I would look there.

No need - all anyone has to do is look through this room - and all of us who have posted our rigs in their own thread - where we can easily find them - with the pictures - they are still there. And as anyone upgrades, as far as I can see, they have usually come back to this room (where Lori said this thread belongs :) ) and posted again.
