YES!!!!!

Postby JudyJB » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:34 pm

I got an offer tonight for only $2,900 less than my asking price!!! Have not formally accepted it, but plan on doing so tomorrow, with only a couple of minor wording changes. Whew.

And it is from someone I know from work who will not be ready to move until June, so we will close in mid-April and then I will pay rent for an unspecified amount of time. What else could I hope for??

The inspection will not be a problem, but only worry will be the appraisal. If it appraises for too little, she can back out because of having to pay bigger downpayment or problem with mortgage.

They will still continue to show the place, but maybe now I can get back to my usual messy self??

Let the motorhome shopping begin in earnest!!!!!

Hope you are going to insist that the appraisal be done within a very short time. That way you know if it is a go or not.

I'm hoping this encourages those of you who will be following me--cleaning out years of junk and putting your homes up for sale. Apparently things are not as bad as they look.

As I learned, most of these cheap foreclosed and short sale homes are really in bad shape and unless someone wants to do a lot of fixing up, they don't appeal to people. The foreclosed homes get stripped of appliances, also.

I kept getting told how nice it was to have all the appliances stay and to have relatively newly painted wall and clean carpeting. People who are buying inexpensive housing really want appliances. And all of us who are selling or plan to be selling to full-time, we could care less about that!!

Might even sell some of my furniture to the new owner, assuming appraisal and home inspection are OK.

Thanks for your good wishes, all of you. I really appreciate it.

Great news. I am hoping mine will sell as fast. But I continue each day throwing out, selling, cleaning. Gosh my house looks good. Hope it works out right to the signing of the sale papers.
