A day with Carol and Wendy

The weather was near perfect yesterday for our outing in Guntersville. Dropped Nicky off to play with his furry friend and we took Maggie (Carolinagirl's fur baby) with us.
Of course we met at the Rock House Eatery for lunch and gab feast. It was all decked out for Christmas
Then we headed over to the little museum to see the Christmas displays there.
Thought this was one of the most cleaver trees on display
and Bill's boat was all decked out (this little boat traveled the entire length of both the TN and MS Rivers but that is another story)
Bell's birds were done in the 1920s by a woman who taught herself taxidermy. All the birds are native to the TN Valley region
About a Guntersville native, famous surgeon who invented the operating table and eventually served as the first Surgeon General
Wendy and Carol checking out the uncomfortable looking table
The museum has an excellent display of local minerals/gem stones and arrowheads; none of my photos of these were good enough to post
The weather was so nice we went back to the Rock House and sat on patio to visit more. The waitress even brought us complimentary drinks since we had eaten there earlier. We talked until the sun sank too low to keep us warm, then it was back to Huntsville and a trip to Wal-Mart.
