Karen greeted everyone with a wonderful welcome package filled with flamingo themed items, including stemware. How thoughtful, thank you Karen!

Ernie made a big pot of smokin’ chili for dinner. Thank you too, Ernie.

Tommy volunteered to be the lamppost, Thanks, Tommy!

Image

Lori kept the smoke going her way, Thanks, Lori!

Jill and Tommy bought these cute boots to protect Molly and Sammy’s feet from the sandspurs around their campsite. They were not amused.

Sammy: “I’m sitting here until they take these silly things off!”

We’re all looking forward to the other’s arrival today. More good times to come.

Talk about having a ball!! The MH in the dinner table picture is mine. We're waiting for Diana and Beth today. Wish you all could have seen Jill's poor dogs trying to walk with those booties on - high stepping and kicking out sideways with each step. They finally took pity on them and took them off. We're all just a bunch of partying fools and all were in their rigs by 9PM.

Sandspurs......well, you and I would call them "stickers", Cedar......but they grow here at ground level....really hurt if you get one in your foot.......the poor "puppies" get them in their paws... will try to get you a photo of a sandspur...they are all over Texas....North, South, East and West.....

In Illinois we call them stickers, or sandburs, as they usually grow in sandy areas best. When we got one of the little points stuck in our skin, we'd say we got a sticker.

hum is this sandburs any worse than Goat heads? We have those here in AZ and it will flatten your tires of the bike and stick to the bottom of your shoes. Then you track them in the house and if you step on one you scream!

We won't say what else we might have thought about Lori :)

I call them burrs - or burs - and, yep, Jenny- same thing - Peaches can't walk with them in her paws, she'll stop and pull most of them out - but sometimes she stops, rolls over, puts her paw in the air - and waits for me to do it. Now, she rolls in the grass also - and they get into her fur - then she comes in and they fall out of her eventually, I step on it - and I scream, yessiree I sure do. My shoes come off at the door - have to down here - and with the dry summer and fall, they are harder and more painful than ever.
