Hey ya'll, I'm going to be in Henderson, La Aug 26th-Sept 4th. Carolyn and Martha live in the area and Karen Stiltner is gonna show up, too, on her way back from Tn. If any of you are in the area, stop on by for a day or for the week. It's a totally unplanned GTG at this point, just a bunch of good friends getting together to eat, do some day trips, and gossip about the ones that aren't there! :mrgreen:

There's still sites available at the cg, but don't know for how long since the 3rd is a holiday.

I have taken leave from work for Monday (Aug 27) thru Friday (Aug 31). Let the visiting and fun begin. :-)

I will be a daily visitor, since I live a couple of miles from the Frenchman's Campground. :-)

Looking forward to seeing all that attend!

I leave on Sunday (Sept 2) to go to New Orleans for a few days, so I will only miss Sunday afternoon (Sept 2) and Monday (Sept 3) of the gtg. I will say my goodbyes to everyone Sunday morning.

Just an FYI, the campground has a small cabin. They may have more than one, I don't remember. We had a GTG there a couple of years ago.

I saw the cabin when I looked up the c g on the google map. I will call and check on availability and if they allow fur babies (dog). I need to get Tyler used to travel as well

Anyone bringing kayaks??

There isn't any water access at this campground that I saw. You would have to go down to the visitor's center, I think there is a boat launch there. That would only be about a mile. Don't forget that we have alligators. The brave women from Florida kayak with them but I'm not going to.

You are right, most campgrounds won't let you bring dogs to the cabins. You would have to check. I have seen pop-ups with air conditioners. It might be a little cooler at night in a couple of weeks but it's about 75 at night now.

We might come over for a day visit, depending on when we can get the 4 garage doors installed. Yep, we're biting the bullet and finally installing the doors, at just a little over $6,000. it had been put on hold, but after being robbed, it's past time to do it.
