Start planning for a Texas GTG the end of October 2012 and lasting until you want to leave. Your hostesses will be Birdie, Nancy and Longdog2, Colleen. We may be bringing a couple of other sistah's in to help us.
Reservations can be made on line at http://www.recreation.gov. Look for Texas, Canyon Lake, Potter's Creek. This is located 3 miles off hwy 306 between I-35 on the East and US 281 on the West. I-10 west to hwy 46 east to US 281 north to 306 and go east 14 miles to Potters Creek Rd go south 3 miles to park. I-10 east to hwy 46 in Seguin and take 46 to New Braunfels go North on I-35 about one mile, and go west on 306 about 16 miles to Potters Creek Rd go south 3 miles to park.
After the reservation area is opened, should be Jan 1. I will take photos and give descriptions of the various sites. Some are in trees and not satellite friendly, others are out in the open areas. They are water and electric with two dump stations available. Golden Age is 50% off. They also have a drive-in area (2 of them) but that makes getting close together a little iffy.
Lots of things to do around the area and we will post some possibilites for site seeing, eating, shopping and fun stuff. First Saturday of the month is Market Days in Wimberly, a small town that explodes during Market Days. Eating is always good and the lake makes a nice kayaking journey. For the ladies who want to fish...they got fish here too.
November should be cool, but not cold. It is a great time to be here because the weekend tenters are normally not around much and that makes it very quiet. Some of you made the trip to Schertz, Stone Creek RV Park in November of 2010 and saw some of the area in and around Gruene and New Braunfels. This is north and west of that area.
More later.
