Shirlv and I (Carol Brewsterivy) are meeting at James Island Campground in Charleston, SC. The cg is more expensive than most gtg but we love the area. James Island is close to Folly Beach, Savannah, Ga and of course beautiful Charleston. We are thinking day trips to the above mentioned areas. I am bringing my kayak and Shirl is thinking of renting one from the campground. We would love to have more people join us. We will have had enough of winter and will be looking for butterflies and flowers. Shirl is booked at site #47 a backin with full hookups $43.28 per night and I am booked at #31, a pull-through. We have posted this on ORS also and hope to catch some folks on their way back north. We were not able to reserve a block of sites at this late date (and here it is only October) but there are about 50 sites still available for that week within the campground. While on the website, check out those beautiful cabins!

Sounds like a wonderful time. I have only been in that area a couple of time and have never felt like I saw all the things that I wanted to! That time next spring I will hope to be either still working in April and/or getting ready to scoot west and meet up with those planning to head to Alaska....(thus the working!
)
So many places to explore and so little time
It is nice to know that there are so many choices out there.

I have reserved site # 15 for me from April 24th through April 30th----6 nights. This all depends on what the weather back home will be like in order for me to head back there and still be able to get into my driveway. I can't have either mud or deep snow.
I will stay at the Jacksonville N/St. Marys KOA in Kinglsand, GA. the night before, perhaps for 2 nights (With my KOA discount, it cost only 27.18 per night). This is a bit south of Brunswick, which I have since learned is in GA! This will break up my trip into two easier days, with a little over 200 miles each day. With me by myself, and going through Jacksonville, this will be plenty of miles for me. If I leave on a Sunday, I will stay there two nights, and head into James site on Tuesday the 24th, which is the day I signed up to arrive. I like leaving FL on a Sunday, as the traffic is much easier.
I looked at the TN spot for that other GTG in TN, but for me to go there, I would be backtracking and going much farther west than I wish. I plan to pick up 95 after James Island and head north until Fredericksburg, and then head west to 81 and home. No campgrounds will be open after I leave the Fredericksburg area, so it'll be truck stops from thereon.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
We shall see how things look back home as the time draws closer.
