Hi Ladies,

I am having a mini GTG with Sharon Meekins and lo and behold I get a call from Karen Stiltner. Karen decided to pull over in Louisiana from Tennesse traveling homeward bound to Texas. The more the merrier. Martha and I are visiting with them, as well as Nancy Oliver (new RVWomen member) who lives near me. I just met Nancy a few weeks ago. I told her all about the WomenRv forum.

Wednesday we are headed to New Orleans for the day.

Here a re few pics from the GTG on Saturday:

Sorry to be so long, just been having to much fun!! Drove 90 miles from Vickies house to Henderson, and... wait for this....absolutely nothing broke, fell off or blew up! And they say miracles never happen!! :D I had booked into Cajun Palms in Henderson for 5 nites and when I got here, I was ready to turn around and leave..an absolute zoo here. But the gal assured me it would be a ghost town on Sun afternoon and it sure is. Lovin' it here now. So I called Carolyn and bless her heart, she showed up within an hour and picked me up and off we went to Breaux Bridge for some sightseeing. We're walking down the street and I hear some guy calling my name....WTH? I don't know anyone here! Lo and behold, it was my x-boss that I always visit in Ft. Worth. He and his wife are in the area on vacation and were sitting at a window table in a restaurant and she spotted me. So we sat down and had a drink with them. What a kick! A little while later Martha called and we met up with her. Then we took a drive out to a bird preserve and swamp. It was gorgeous! While there, her friend Karen called and she had pulled into the same rv park on a whim, so it worked out great. She was on the other side of the place (this place is huge, and that's an understatement) but this morning she moved over next to me. Really nice gal and we're trying to get her to come back to the forum. So, here's a few pictures. I "let" Carolyn take most of the pictures...and that's a joke for any of you that know Carolyn...her camera is permantly affixed to her hand!

Saw this guy at the preserve:

Karen and I were going to take an airboat ride today, but when we got there we found out it was 25 more per person because it was only 2 of us, so we opted to forgo that and go home to catch up on laundry and some more pool time. Yesterday after sightseeing we were hot and tired, so Martha and Carolyn came over here and we spent some quality time in the pool and hot tub....much needed time! That may be a daily repeat outing. Tomorrow Karen and I are going to New Iberria to the Tabasco factory and New Orleans on Wed. We had to really twist Carolyns arm hard to convince her she needed to call in sick and go with us to NO. Martha had to be convinced, too, but Karen and I are masters at that, so 4 of us are going to take NO by storm!

On Google I only saw 5 reviews of this park--a very mixed bag. Two awesome and two terrible. What do you think as it is a convenient location to stop between Texas and Florida. Also, there website says prices are invalid until they finish with a new webpage. Are they reasonable and do they take Passport America? Traveling minds want to know. I plan to come through that way on Sunday or Monday. Thanks!

Check-out the Frenchman's Wilderness Campground. It is just a mile or two from the Butte La Rose Exit. It is cheaper per night.
Here is the link: http://www.frenchmanswildernesscamp.com/

I only live a few miles down south from this campground. :D We could have another GTG. :D

Sounds good Caroline. I also saw Pouches Fish and RV Camp which is Passport America but don't know how that is. I would love to GTG. Just not sure yet which night I will be there, probably Sunday. My son is traveling back to San Antonio with me so this time it also depends on him. Will let you know closer to time.

I had never been to Cajun Palms before and had read the reviews too. It seems people either love it or hate it. On the weekends it is party central. It is a huge place. All cement pads. I guess they are wide enough but a little tight if you are towing a vehicle. You have to park it beside your rig. There were kids and golf carts everywhere. You have to be careful driving around. There was a band playing by the pool and it was loud but Sharon said they shut everything down at 10:00. Sunday morning they started leaving and by the time we got back there were probably only about 20 rigs left. We had the swimming pool and hot tub almost to ourselves. There is a big kid pool too. I don't think I would go there on a weekend but would be a good place to bring kids during the week in the summer. I think someone said the rate was $40 something and I think that is for 4 people at each site. It is even more when there is something special going on. Sharon got us a pass with her so we didn't have to pay the $20 visitor fee. I'm sure their biggest problem on the weekends is crowd control.

Let me and Carolyn know when you will be thru and we will come meet you.
