Lyn it was lots of fun last year. We went to the Sundial bridge and Whiskeytown lake to look at all the devastation. The weather was great so hopefully again this year it will be too.

What are the dates again? Can you add them to the title?

OK, I looked it up on the Internet, and it is October 4-6. Where are you planning on staying? I am pretty sure I can make that.

I’ll be there. Karen, when you think it would be appropriate, can you let us know when would be a good time to make reservations? Hopefully we can be near to each other like last year?

Perhaps more perfect than you may realize.

Both Mt. Shasta (to the north) and Lassen Peak (to the east) can easily be seen from the freeway while travelling north on I-5 through Redding. The Medicine Lake Volcano is in the same general area, about thirty miles east of Mt. Shasta (it cannot be seen from Redding).

Mt. Shasta last erupted in 1786.

Lassen Peak last erupted in 1917.

The Loomis Museum & Visitor's Center for Lassen Volcanic National Park is about 40 miles from Redding, on the north side of the volcano. An easy drive from Redding. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loomis_Museum

The main visitor's center, and thermal area, is located on the south side of the volcano, quite a bit further from Redding.

Then there is the Medicine Lake Volcano, about 3 hours or so from Redding.
Last eruption: around nine-hundred years ago (thus still fairly recent in "geologic time")

My favorite. By many estimates this volcano is the largest volcano in the Cascade chain, it's "footprint" covers about eight-hundred square miles. Lava Beds National Monument is located on the north-east side of the volcano, and the monument is located about an hour south of Klamath Falls.

Laura and I have been to Lava Beds National Monument, when we went exploring over to Klamath Falls. We found the BEST hamburger joint in Merrill.....thought we struck gold LOL Either that or we were just starving LOL who knows.

Sandi, yes that was perfect last year us being so close. I think I will make reservations closer to April. We dont have to pay anything until we get there so I am thinking around April 1st. What do you think about that. That was a good place to stay too, close to the action and not that far from Redding. We can coordinate around that time for anyone else who is wanting to stay there. I know it is a tad pricey but not a lot of choices in that area close to the Pow Wow.

JGW RV Park. it is close to the pow wow area.

I'm planning on attending. I have the time off approved at work already.

I keep trying to figure out a way to go over there for another hamburger. It's just not on the way to anything LOL

Reserving JGW RV Park around April 1 sounds good to me Karen. Hopefully we can coordinate.

Also, what dates are you looking at? I want to plan around them.

Tried to look it up and can't recall where you saidor dates. I'd sure like to go if I can get van ready.more specific details please.
