I know it is a long way off, but Florida fills up fast. I have already made reservations for December 2019, and am starting to work on January 2020. Is anyone planning on a GTG in January or February 2020?? Maybe even as far south as Midway, along the Tamiami Trail??

UPDATE: I have just made reservations for Midway Campground in the Big Cypress, along Tamiami Trail for January 21-Feb 3. I know it is way out in the middle of nowhere, but if you have ever been here, you know it is a really neat place. It is located literally "midway" between Naples and Miami, with no grocery stores for 50 miles in either direction and no gas within 25 miles. So you have to come prepared with everything you need. However, it has some real advantages:

-- Paved sites with electric hookups. Dump station and central water fill available.
-- Cost for seniors is $15 per day, $30 per day for younger.
-- Palm trees at almost every site. Grass between sites, with a "lake" (aka alligator pond) in the middle.
-- Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Art Gallery 1/2 mile west of campground.
-- Oasis Visitor center with lots of alligators and birds two miles to the west. https://www.nps.gov/bicy/planyourvisit/ ... center.htm Another 8 miles to the west is a highway rest area with a boardwalk into the swamp.
-- You can take swamp buggy and airboat tours from nearby areas.
-- Ditch across the highway also has birds and more alligators.
-- Shark Valley Visitor center and tram tours 17 miles to the east. Great place to see more alligators and tons of birds. Can take 18 mile tram tour or ride your bike on the paved tram road. Puts you in the middle of the "Sea of Grass"--literally. One of my favorite bike rides, but you can also walk a mile or so of the trail. Rental bikes available. https://www.nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/ ... trails.htm
-- Bad news is no cell service, no internet, and no showers. Have to drive to Oasis Visitor Center (2 miles) for cell service. I take rig down there once a day.

Anyway, in spite of the isolation of this place, it is one of my favorite places in Florida. I am going to be there, so if anyone is adventurous and wants to join me, please do. Lots of spaces still available for that time period, but they won't last long.

If I was going to be in Florida, I'd join you. Sounds like a great place.

I cannot head to FL until late Jan so too late to join you. I have signed up for two other gigs. Hardee Lakes Feb 1-14 (county park with electric and water, dump station). They have a two week limit on stays. Some of us stay the full two weeks others are in and out various amounts of time. I also plan to attend Hillsborough River gtg tho that is not one of my favorite parks. Mainly want to visit some of the ladies I only get to see once a year and meet some new people. Hope you can join us at either of these.(Donna mentioned)
