Yesterday Claudia (Wings) and her daughter Katrina and their adorable dog Howdy, arrived. She talked them into giving her the host site with full hookups in my loop so we didn't have to walk/ride two miles to meet up. Its her maiden voyage for her new RV. She got all set up and we talked for a while. Separated to eat then got back together to sit around a campfire. When I get home I'll try to post some pictures but had major issues the last time I tried to use Photobucket. Why can't they STOP changing things??????

This park is really pretty with lots of trees. The weather hasn't been too bad, mid 80's but kind of humid. The lake is pretty and I saw my first alligator yesterday. Was standing on the boat dock looking out over the lake thinking every ripple was an alligator. Then looked down and right next to the dock was a BIG one. I said a swear word and jumped back from the railing. Does anyone know how high an alligator can climb??? DON'T walk my two snacks on a leash anywhere near the water. Between alligators and water moccasins will someone please take me back to the desert where they have nice noisy rattlesnakes who let you know when they're around.

I think it was Claudia that I met at Palmetto State Park when she was on her way to New Orleans.

I don't think they are very good at climbing but they can jump up quite high and run pretty fast.

Of course, that's not an American gator. It's a croc. But you get the idea.....

Katrina and I had a great time at Huntsville state park with Karen and her crew, Sophie and Baxter. They are such nice dogs. Katrina and I rented a kayak and explored the lake. We did not see any alligators while kayaking but did see the one later on that Karen was writing about. We all had drinks and food. And had a good relaxing 3days. the maidan voyage of my new Motorhome was a success . Karen, you are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to RVs. I learned a lot from you during our chats over drinks and campfires.

So far I have met 2 of the ladies on this forum, Karen and Martha and I am going to try to make it to the Kansas GTG in September. It seems that all of y'all love camping as much as I do. I drove my diesel class c sprinter 20,000 miles last year and am hoping to do the same with the new Wings which is a class a thor hurricane 27k.
