Possible Meetup? Oregon, Oct 24-26.

Hey, this is nothing as "formal" as a real GTG, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I'm leaving the Spokane area to meander my way to Texas in about 3 weeks. Laura (CougarFan) is going to meet me at the Silver Spur RV Park in Silverton, Oregon, for the last weekend of October. Anyone want to join us? They take Passport America if you make your own reservation.

As Ellen said, I'll be there starting Thursday, October 24 for 3 nights and I think we have a few more that have expressed an interest.

If you call to reserve a spot, and want to use the PA discount ($17/night with no restrictions for this weekend), don't tell them you're with a group or you'll have to pay $29 or $34/night. The park isn't that big so if we aren't together its not a big deal.

If there are any others in the area that missed the west coast gtg last month, here's a second chance to meet up with a few members!

Made my reservation. The park has a great gathering area on the covered patio of the clubhouse so we don't have to worry if it rains!! I checked the park out yesterday and it looks pretty nice. Should be a great time to have a GTG before the hectic holidays.

I would love to come but leaving for Las Vegas on the 23rd so won't work for me. I will be there in spirit. Going to a conference in Vegas and will be gone for about 10 days as I am driving down this time instead of flying. Driving the car tho so should be a nice road trip.

Just go day by day - it's a series of a couple/few hundred miles each time ... don't think of it as 3000 miles.

It's like 5 round trips between Spokane and Seattle without Snoqualmie Pass...

Having just got back from a >4500 mile round trip, I say: You can do it ! and it will fun. I too had anxiety when I set out but soon got into the groove and had a great time. I am going to see if I can attend the get together. Will let you know.

This is exactly what a real GTG is you goof! Just with less advance notice and planning - which is working out just fine.

Wish I could be there but I am currently at a Loners on Wheels campout so have used my allowed expense money for the month. Guess this will be my last outing of the season. You all have a good time.
