Gator Gal Gathering

It has been a wonderful week. I have five (5) rigs in my yards plus mine. It has been so much fun. We have shopped, visited plantations, farms, kayaked on the Itchetucknee river, had a pie baking contest, had rousing hands of Hand and Foot. The dogs have gathered in the fenced backyard and had a great time sniffing, marking and barking. The clubhouse has been open for bathing, cooking, and of course eating. Could not ask for a better bunch of women to visit with.

Irmi just saw your question about joining us, you are most welcome. There should be an unused plug someplace.

A glimpse of the campground here in Alachua.

The back row with water view and a view of the dog run.

Too windy to go kayaking today but tomorrow and Friday holds new possibilities. Today became the day of the great bake off, pie contest.

Three pies.... The Lemon had to be chilled so we didn't get it out to test until after dinner and some cards..... An ice cream run was made as the pies were cooking and the ice cream made it to the table while the pies were still warm..... Eddie made the mistake of running out to complete an errand before sampling the pies. Oops! :o

Liz and Sandy were daintily scooping the last microscopic drops of ice cream and pie from their bowls until I modeled what they really wanted to do. Sandy may be learning way too much about us during this gathering. Yes, the pies were that good!

Our campground is among the best in the state.
All the pies were exceptionally good. Nan and Liz got the prize for cleanest plates.
Nicky might have beat them but he did not get to play the clean plate game.

I loved these pictures. So glad you are all together and having so much fun. I really got tickled at Liz "licking the bowl" for real. The pies all looked really good.

I am drooling here over the pictures of those pies with ice cream! It almost makes me wish to try to bake one----ALMOST! I hate baking, but....!!

Nan's house is perfect for GTGs, I can see that! I guess I need to put up a fenced-in doggy area for the Ruckus this year----I will consider doing that, actually, when I get back there.

Sure does look like a wonderful time was had by all those campers at that best FL campsite of all! And it makes me wish I had a drivable rig more than ever, now, instead of a cumbersome trailer and truck. Sigh!

Wow, what a great week. I think your campground is definitely the best ever. I'm discovering little by little that almost anything goes regarding fun with this group. All the talk and planning makes me want to tag along and wander the country too! My kayaking experience was everything I had imagined and more. Thanks to everyone for such a fun time. The best of all was the look on Eddie's face when he came back from his short errand to discover the entire pie was gone other than a small sliver of the crust and see several of the offenders were licking their place with no hint of guilt for not saving him any. Could this possibly be? Priceless!
Thanks Nan for making this gtg possible.
Sandy

What a wonderful way to end my last week in FL. Nan's campground and the company here are the best. Thank you.

In case you are wondering, another pie was made the next day and Eddie got to cut the first piece.

Sad to leave but I will head into GA tomorrow for a few days. Will see SIL before returning to AL the the dreaded tax paperwork.

The house and yard grew very quiet today as everyone pulled out to head for more adventures. The cabana boy has worked today around the house, while I left in my OES garb to be installed for another year.

This afternoon, the cabana boy is busy cooking up a meal fit for a king..think I will keep him.

Yes, keep him.....there would be too many fighting over him should he become available! Good Cabana boys are difficult to find..... :D
