Mini GTG in Ocala

We were invited to lunch at Steve and Irmi's site in Ocala today. We were supposed to leave at 10:30, but I was running late, so Wendy, Sarah, Paul and I left Wildwood just before 11. We were all looking forward to lunch since we all know what a good cook Irmi is. Steve, of course, taking his Asst. Sultan duties very seriously greeted us very warmly when we got there. Irmi, ever the great hostess, had chilled Chardonnay waiting for us.

We all settled in with our wine glasses to enjoy great food and conversation.

Here's Irmi.

And, of course, Steve making us all laugh with his wonderful sense of humor.

Irmi had called me to let me know Peggy from CT was going to be staying at the same CG and would be there with us today. I was really excited about getting to meet her.

Here's Peggy, Wendy (hiding her face as usual) and Irmi

Here's Paul and Sarah.

We saw Peggy going into the office to check in as we were coming into the CG. When she was finished and made her way to Irmi and Steve's site, she let Irmi know there was a large box for her in the office. We just knew it was her new spin dryer, so Wendy, Irmi and I all headed to the office to pick up the box. Wendy wanted to see if they had any brochures for glass bottom tours for our day tomorrow. Sure enough, the box was Irmi's new dryer. We carried it back to the site.

After lunch, Steve opened up the box and took the dryer out so we could all see it and make sure everything was working as it should. The latch on Paul's dryer worked perfectly right out of the box. Mine and Irmi's did not. We all took a look at possible ways to fix this. Irmi figured out the solution with Steve overlooking as supervisor making wise cracks. Not that he would, of course. I am definitely going to put the same fix on mine now that Irmi has figured it out.

We had to head back around 3:30 to let all our dogs out. Sure did hate to go. I have so enjoyed getting to know Steve and Irmi while we have been here. I sure cannot wait to meet up with them again. I feel like I have made two more really close friends. It was so good getting to meet Peggy too. It's so nice to be able to put a face and a voice with her postings now. It will be great to meet up with her again too.

It was a fun afternoon indeed. Irmi and Steve take their hosting seriously, got me a campsite and made me feel very welcomed. The food was delicious and I've been invited for German pancakes for brunch. Dawn and Paul are as lively as Dawn's postings. Lots of stories to tell. It was great to meet up with Sarah and Wendy again and to see how much confidence we have all gained since the last time we camped in Silver Springs. The forum is a wonderful group of people.

Good company, good food and unusual entertainment as the dryer repair crew operated on the lid while dancing on the table. What more could one ask for at a mini gtg.
