Liz, our decision to go to Kansas was strictly spur of the moment. When I saw Carol's post on MC I called her. She cancelled her dentist appt and I wiped my calendar clean, much to everybody's surprise, and we are off. Too bad we have to come right back, but such is life. How far south are you. You could intercept us in Ohio....

Catherine, you art THE woman! What a great campground! I love it! The 'katydids' are singing, the barn swallows fattening up to go south, grasshoppers being soulful in their movement, Genny Wren welcoming with her 'hello' chatter! Water is gently lapping in the lake back of the rig.

Sandi, your site awaits your arrival!

Ms. Sharon, there are enough vacancies you can get in! May have to move, but you have forward and reverse!

Tina and Sarah arrived about an hour after I did, uuuhhhh about 30-45 minutes ago.

Canoe off the car, check; cornbread baking in the oven, check; wild turkey in the glass over ice, check; relaxed, check!

Cannot wait to see you all get here! CarolB and Peggy be safe in your travels....well everyone be safe.

Yes, Sarah and I have officially parked and are beginning to settle in. Not planning much more this evening other than a lengthly dog walk. Tomorrow will be soon enough to get more of the toys out. See folks soon

  Good gad Birdie, I had to read this several times. I thought you had turkey under glass (like pheasant under glass) in the oven. Sometimes you need to draw me a pictures.....and then color it too!

Such a beautiful park - great choice, Catherine.
Cannot believe I drove more than 800 miles without getting lost or even making a wrong turn then got inside the park - lost twice before I got on the loop with my site
A couple of short walks with Nicky, then enjoyed dinner at picnic table and watched sunset (away from lake) and with any luck will watch sunrise over the lake in the morning.
Three of us here and more arriving tomorrow. The two walk up sites (41 and 41A) are currently occupied but all the others that I've checked are ready and waiting for you.

Aaaahhhh! Pat, a favored iced libation is a great bourbon, Wild Turkey in this case, poured slowly over small ice chips/cubes with water slowly poured over that. Uuummm good! But have a huge problem in that the turkey has flown the coop! Anita you know that means write it down on the grocery list and don't leave the list in the car or rig! Need to make a Wally run for meds in a day or two anyway so will look for turkey then! Do have chocolate Bailey's. May try that over ice.

Karen and Sandi are due in tomorrow. And then everyday someone else arrives!

I should be there sometime tomorrow (Tuesday). I'll be about 6 hrs. away when I start. Hopefully that will be early so I'll arrive in the afternoon. See you soon!

I have decided to come up a day earlier than planned, so will be pulling in on Thursday, probably mid afternoon. I will be traveling by myself and my GF will be coming up on Friday. Will any of you ladies be around to help spot me backing the "Meatball" into my campsite #13?

I cannot help but believe that there will be more sistahs ready to assist you than you could count on one hand!!! That means yes, come on up! I am in Site 17 if you get here and know one is out and about, highly unlikely, come to my spot becuz I rarely take a nap. If the lake is smooth I could be out there, but being in KS it may not smooth out for a bit.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Karen Sarah and I checked out Council Grove a while yesterday afternoon. The Honda needed gas and it looked like a neat little town. Unfortunately I think chamber of commerce and a few of the citizen now know to keep an eye and ear out for some crazy ladies group over at the campground.
