Just letting you know, Renee, we are not anti-men ... your husband is welcome to the gtg's. Of course, if you want to come solo, that's ok, also. Just don't want you to think you HAVE to leave him home. And I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Hi and thanks to the Oregon lady who did all the work to get this set up! I made my reservation for five nights, beginning Sept 20th. I took the smallest site in area "C" as I have a truck camper with shell. C31.

I will look forward to meeting those who are there. Thanks, lyn

New faces are coming! Old faces are coming! Can't wait to see everyone. (And for those of you who don't like being called an "old" face, get over it lol .. as I'm one of us).

I thought it was time for an update so here is the list I have. Please let me know if you are coming to the gtg and don't see your name:

nella74nasus (Susan)
Wickedlady (Marda)
Bethers (Beth)
ellenw (Ellen)
kariflint (Kari)
Oregonluvr (Karen)
Cougarfan (Laura)
KReneeShippey (Renee)
anncat (Ann)
mtngal (Diana)
Monik7 (Sandi)
SoCalGalcas (Lyn)
FinallyTime (Karen)

I've been trying to keep the list updated as reservations are made. Some people are arriving on Sept 20 and a few of us will get there on the 21st. I believe everyone is staying through Tuesday night. As always, there is no agenda for this gtg other than to have a great time! We will work in the sand buggy tour as the weather permits. Karen and I stopped and talked to them when we took our little road trip and we won't need reservations. They also have a cute little miniature golf course at the sand buggy place which looked fun.

There will be several people attending that have extra vehicles for store runs, etc so if you don't have one, don't worry.

If this is your first gtg, just plan on bringing food you like to eat and we'll work out any potlucks we might have when we get there. The store isn't that far away. If you have a special recipe (I hear that Marda makes pretty darn good homemade wine) please bring it along so we can try it out!

I'm thrilled that this gtg is getting more and more people each year! If anyone out there is on the fence about coming, just hop on off that dumb fence and reserve a spot!!! You won't regret it!

This will be my first GTG with all you ladies, and so I'm looking forward to meeting you. For those who've not been to Tugman, when you look at the site map of the campground, the west side is very close to Highway 101; the north end is closer to the lake and a lovely path that follows the lake at least a mile or so with some unusual plants; the east side is creekside. Hopefully, that info may help in choosing sites. I've just been online at the Oregon State Park website that was given and found that, for the dates we'll be meeting, there seem to be plenty of spaces available in all loops. It's always nice once the kids are in school since you rarely need reservations for anyplace then. Another State park that folks may want to visit is close to Tugman out west of Charleston (which is west of Coos Bay, about 20 miles south), and that's Sunset Bay State Park and also Shore Acres, a huge botanical garden that's worth a looksee. Sunset Bay is right off the beach and is drop-dead gorgeous -- again with many trails around the bay. Camping sites, though, are a little tight. Big rigs may have a problem. I'm 27' in my MH and considered it snug to park but with generous campsites. North of Tugman about five miles is Winchester Bay, where fresh fish can be purchased daily with lots of gift shops and a couple of restaurants. I believe deep-sea outings can be arranged there, as well. That road will take you to a lighthouse, also -- although I'm not sure it's still open to the public. Just south of Tugman is the city of Lakeview which sports two commercial RV parks, North Lake and Osprey Point. Osprey Point has a pub that has great food, and it's open to the public. They used to have an Eel Lake tour via small boats, but they may have discontinued that when there was an algae bloom problem there a couple of years ago.

Again, I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Yay Lori! Glad you can make it to the gtg. Which site did you book? I need to add you to my list.

When I first posted about the gtg, there were no sites available in loops A and B but see now that there are plenty. Not sure why they all looked like they were booked.

When Karen (Oregonluvr) and I went and walked C loop, we found the spots on the west side were much more level than the ones on the east side (closer to the lake) and the sites to the west looked better for those with bigger rvs (not as many trees to get in the way of slide-outs) so, we picked that side of the loop. Of course, it would be tons of fun to just fill up C loop with OUR people LOL. We didn't notice too much highway noise when we were there but that doesn't mean we won't hear the cars.

I'm really looking forward to this gtg!

Hi Friends,
Well I had high hopes last summer that I could come up and make it happen with ya'll (yes, I'm southern). I'm the one with the website that supports folks that want to travel alone. It started out for women, but now it's spread out to everybody. Funny about that. I have a link in my what's new section to the Forum here. I hope people use it because I like the way you have organized things. So, message me. If you check out the website and want to contribute with and article or something, go for it. www.womenwanderlust.com or www.blog.womenwanderlust.com. If the moderators are reading this. Is it possible for one of you to check it out and talk it over with the organizers. My site is strictly supportive, no sales, just words. No swear words, clean. I'd love you to link my website for the areas visited.
I live part time in Sonoma and Truckee. I'd love to get together with a group of you in Northern California sometime this summer.
Take care,
Linda

You can know more about me at http://blog.womenwanderlust.com

This post is in a thread about a gtg in OR in Sept - so most of what you're posting here is lost here. Are you interested in coming to this gtg?

As to your website - as I stated in your into post - you are more than welcome to have a link to your website/blog in your signature.
