#17 seems to be a come and go spot, sorry Joan that you can't make it, but thank you so much for posting that fact. Its now mine or rather my sister got it for us. She wants to join us for time she can,she still works, to meet some of my friends.

So, as I am only maybe 5 miles away, I will be able to make it to this GTG, for 5 days at least. have to leave the 13th. I would have gone for day visits but this will be so much nicer.

Thanks Tina for the info on Joans post,

Getting soooo close for the FUN to begin,
CArol :)

No agenda yet! I thought we can talk about which days for any agendas when we get there. I agreed to start this GTG if I didn't have to do any planning, ergo, you did not miss anything! I will be cooking up a huge pot of beef stew/goulash stuff on Sunday when I get there, so that when most of you show up on Monday, there will be food in a huge crock pot to eat with some rolls/bread, whatever, whenever anyone is hungry! I will have to see where, if any, places would be good to meet for a shared breakfast and for nightly campfires. I know that Pete and a few others would love to go to the Tampa RV show that will be going on while we are there, so that will just take a minute to plan who wants to go, who will ride with whom, and who will prefer staying right at the campground to mind the homes! This is going to be a joint agenda-planning committee this time! So feel free to jump right in!

I forgot to ask who has the banner for ORS and if there is a banner/flag for the Women RVers group that we all can sign??

Just bring whatever you particularly like to eat, what you need for clothes (for both warm and cool temperatures) bug spray and OFF stuff, if there are mosquitoes there, sunscreen, any meds you need, pet food and leashes, etc., bikes, canoes, kayaks, life jackets, whatever for exercise. I have never been to this place, so have no clue how far it is to the water for kayaking/canoeing. Pete was there, and said it's pretty far, so we will need to drive the boats there and back. MY truck will hold a number of them at a clip. For some reason, I had thought the water was close, and I was disappointed when I discovered how far it actually is. Biking should be very good, and hiking also. And, best of all, WE will all be there!!!

Sorry you can't make it, JoanE----was looking forward to meeting you. BUT very happy that Carol and her sister will be able to come! YIPPEE!!!

It won't be long now!

I have the ORS banner - was given it at the Arkansas GTG.

cpatinjones was given the Women's banner at that time as well.

Meant to add... I will most likely be anti social during meal times, unfortunately.

I love to eat.. and that is the problem. I have been loving it a tad too much as of late. While on higher doses of steroids, I seem to have no appetite control. If its out there.. doesn't move, I'll eat it.

Perhaps the alligators should fear ME.

Depending on what they find when I get reamed (my date has been moved up to Jan.4th now) I may or may not eat either! I just hope I will still be coming after that ordeal --"Procedure" as they love to term it! Barbaric torture is my term for it. I can hardly WAIT for my Colon Blow diet on the day before.....ACK!

Glad to know both banners will be there for us to do our John Hancock thing. Don't forget to have your cameras with fully-charged bateries ready to roll!
Alice, if you don't eat anything, the gators won't even know you are edible!

Time for me to get my map so I can find Wekiwa----later.

Wish I could be there. I really like the unplanned - just let's gtg gtg's. There's always things people can decide to do - but there's always just hanging out - and eating, of course. Alice, you won't be able to avoid food - you know at these - everyone always has some handy.

Soos, there are no ill effects afterwards from the "procedure", only before part is the fun. Alice, pepper will keep moving so don't eat him! Just how far are we going to hike to the water??? I also like the plan when we get there thing.

Not sure about the hike to the water.. have heard rumors of up to a two mile drive. Don't quote me... but I think you can drive right to the Canoe Beach Landing. This makes the access easier than some parks which have you walk trails to get to the landings. I could be wrong though.

The swimming hole.. aka, monitored for alligator section, is in walking distance of the campsite. Its a good walk though. You'll pass it on the right on your way in.

I plan to ride my bicycle with cart to the water. So if you are going to the swimming area, we can load up my cart with chairs and stuff.

As far as my water bike / shuttle bike, need to rethink actually using it on this trip but do plan to bring it. This park is one of Florida's two Federally designated Wild and Scenic Rivers... and they do mean "wild" as far as its inhabitants.

Just checked the long range forecast for area. NO freezing temps all week long and a full moon. Warmer weather will sure be a welcome change from last year.

Well, Sarah, we are a little farther south and later in the month so I'm glad it's supposed to be beautiful next week. I'm getting excited to see everyone.
