Peggy, so sorry for the medical issues and that you won't make the GTG! I was so looking forward to seeing you again, but it will be somewhere down the road I hope!

Awh Peggy, I was looking forward to seeing you again, but I completely understand. Take care of yourself.

At this point in our lives, taking care of our health, and taking care of our pets, becomes the first choice of all. Peggy, altho sorry to see you dropping out of the GTG, you are wise to do so. I'm sure, there will be other GTG at this great location. lyn

So so sorry that you won't be there, but even more sorry that you are having to go thru this. Sure gonna miss you, tho! We will have to carry on the search for the perfect bread pudding without you.....won't be nearly as much fun!! Hugs, my friend!!

Thanks everybody for understanding. I don't usually back out of plans. I've made a request for a speaker phone call, so I can say hello when you're all gathered together. I know you are going to have a good time in Catherine's beautiful part of the world. Enjoy today. Peggy

I’m going to have to back out of this GTG too. I was so looking forward to it, but it’s not going to be possible. Thank you Sharon for offering a place to crash. I do appreciate it.

Big IFs, but small chance we might be able to make it. 1st IF - DH hopefully will be off I.V. Antibiotics by then and we'll be in the waiting period to see if any bugs grow in the culture before they approved the next surgery for a new knew (3rd time is a charm?). DH has a buddy from his college days that lives near K city that could/would (I hope) help keep DH occupied. I really can't leave him alone yet. He is still stuck in wheel chair or scooter with limited hopping with help of walker. Would it be OK to bring DH to gtg??

NO problem here! Doubt if anyone else would have one either..that's the great thing about this group, any one is welcome with whom ever they want to bring.

No problem! If Vicki were coming, Ronnie would be - and I am sad they aren't coming!

The only down side Red is that, after he meets some of us, you can't pretend that the women you run around with on the forum aren't just a little bit "special"....I was going to say eccentric and crazy but I didn't want to offend anyone. :) :) I mean Catherine sounds normal enough but Sharon is coming. :o

Hope the "ifs" all work in your favor. I can imagine that both of you might enjoy a change of scenery.

Ha, He has already met me and some of the others - but then again, I won't be there - maybe that's why he's willing to go? There are no gtg's of this group that spouses, friends, etc cannot attend. Maybe I might not want a gaggle of children, but even that I'd survive. For a day or two lol ...

Sure wish I could be there - but money is ruling my time right now. Will be living vicariously through all of you.

To late, Tina, he's already met me..in fact it's my fault they sold the trailer and got the motorhome. sigh. Red must not have told him I was gonna be there!

To bad Margie and Roger aren't able to make it. Roger has enough stories about our shenanigans and would love to share  Besides Roger always wears his cute fuzzy pajamas right along with the rest of us to the campfires. :)

Red, hope you can make it. Lori, Irmi, Carold and Margie's husbands are regulars at our gtgs. Nan even brought her cabana boy to one last year. Dawn's brother, Paul has also joined us.

Red, it would be great if you & your DH could come!!!! Try to get site 41 - it's a walk-up - long & beautiful, next to the water. It's the one in the first post that I happened to get once last year. We'd love to have you both! You might call the campground & explain your DH's special needs & they may let you reserve that site - I know Vicki was able to talk them into it earlier. :)

I can't wait to meet everyone. Tina, I'm not too normal - after all, I get together with people I'm meeting on the internet.

Sharon mentioned we might want to plan a couple of meals - so shall we start that?

I plan on bringing 3-4 slabs of ribs from the best & newest BBQ place in KS - Slaps, my nephews' place http://www.yelp.com/biz/slaps-bbq-kansas-city-2 And I make a really good pot of baked beans to go with them. Would we want to build one meal around that?

And then have potluck another night? Maybe someone could recommend their favorite GTG food theme for this one.

And a nice breakfast one morning? I can make a pretty good batch of sausage gravy & there's ready-made biscuits from Sam's club :D . Or we can scramble up a batch of eggs with some bacon. :D

There are also a couple of place in town we might want to try:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g38647-d554685-Reviews-Hays_House-Council_Grove_Kansas.html

Do we have vegetarians or vegans coming? what would you like to have?

Let the fun begin!!!!
