I am thinking about going to this GTG! Will have to see how my finances are by then. I can rent a car but would need a place to stay that week, if there are any volunteers... :D

(a surprise birthday party would be fun...never had one before...just sayin' :D )
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sure wish I could make this one. But I'm usually busy in January. And if we get anything like last year's weather there's no way I could get TC out of the driveway let alone down to AZ.
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

After 4 months on the road (entirely by myself), I read this thread and got really excited about the possibility of meeting some of you at a gtg. Can someone provide some more details about exactly when and where? (I arrived in the Phoenix area a few days ago and plan to settle here for several years -- need to get a job.)

Barbie...check Allegiant Air, Southwest Airlines, etc. Could be that flying and renting a car could be cheaper and save you time. Phoenix and Vegas are big hubs. I would offer my couch, but as you know, Myrtle will be under construction ;) I can't even tell you how anxious I am to get out to AZ!

caroljo...The thread title says it all ;)

Last time I just drove over for the day but I'm actually considering on sleeping in my car, with a coffee can of course
but I haven't made that commitment to myself just yet. The seat lays down but dont know if it would be enough room for
me. I'll have to check it out but I'll be there for the day anyway. Which day is still the question. :D

Ava and Barbie, I'll bet room can be found in rv's for both of you. I don't think I'd want to accommodate more than one, but my sofa would be available.

My birthday is January 17th. I'll be 49... ;)

I will probably fly on Sun Country if I can get a good rate for that week. We'll see...

If I were to bring Myrtle, where would you recommend parking? Haven't decided. May meet up with Ken and some other friends, who plan to go to the balloon fest, then Q. They will have an RV. If I could work at the RV show, that would solve my problem. Maybe my boss at the swap meet would let me run a stand there. Seems like one of our gals did that.

You willing to boondock? If so, then you should park near the rest of us - near where Sheila is for the winter. There's a small fee there - as it's in the long term area. If you didn't want to pay, you could always stay in the short term area and drive back and forth... but so much fun to be all together.

Just went and double-checked - the short term permit is only $40 for up to 14 days ... cheapie me even manages that. But if not for meeting up with everyone, would be on the free land, myself.

OK...so tell me the process of getting the permit. Is there usually plenty of room near Sheila?

No problem with room. And you purchase the permit when you drive in.
