I don't have one but I know that some of the others do. Don't know if they plan to kayak or not. The water has gone up some with the rain we've had so that is a good thing.

Bring it on Red! If the weather is good, the water is at a good level. I have an inflatable and I am trying to get my SIL oot here, she has one too. I can get in the water.

I am anxious to see your kayaks too. Paul and I were talking yesterday about maybe someday getting one each. They look like they would be so much fun.

Well, ladies, the last spot in the reserved camping area has been claimed for the weekend portion of the GTG. If anyone is still wanting to come, you can probably get a spot in the walk-in loop and I'm sure we can work something out getting you back and forth if you don't have a car. Fun times are almost here and so far, the weather could not be better. :D

Anderson County in East Texas went under a burn ban this weekend - the signs were up yesterday. BUUUUUUUUUUUUT we have a cold front moving in this weekend that's supposed to be wet (boohiss because it's airshow weekend in Houston).

And after this last weekend and the week ahead, I may be doing nothing but vegging! I may not be able to move. I'm dragging today from hauling Dutch ovens around all weekend, setting up and breaking up not only the Land Dinghy by myself, but my cooking area. I sure hope Mark is available to help share the workload :D :D :D

I hope you got some pictures of your weekend Maggie. Sounds like it is a "good" tired and was lots of fun. So far no burn ban here but it hasn't rained in a while and very small chances this week.

Checking to see if we have anyone who wants to make a reservation for the Gorge hike. Not a problem, if no one is interested. But if you are interested, need to let the rest of us know so we can kind of go, maybe the same day and time  . When I threw this out earlier I only got a nod from that California Sharon lady. Just double checking.

We had a few sprinkles, light rain, last evening, lots of wind today and cooled way down, for us, to 53*. Should drop into the 40's tonight. Getting the electric blanket out. The Corp has completed mowing and trimming about all of the normal parts of the park. Need a good rain to get the cut grass to go away so you don't bring it in the house with ya!

Looking forward to seeing you all next week!! :D Anyone coming in early can probably get a drive up spot after Sunday p.m. Pretty full tonight in the drive up and unless we get ugly they will be here Saturday. Ugly = high winds to blow the tents down OR rain - if either of those happen they will head out early.

I try to walk everyday but I'm not into hiking. I know Pat doesn't want to go on a hike.

The front came through this afternoon. It's cooler but we didn't get much rain. I don't usually go to town in shorts but was in a hurry so didn't change. It was quite cold in Walmart. I'm still loading things. Hope I don't have to rent a trailer. lol

Birdie, I am interested in the hike.

Please refresh my memory on the details of the hike. In the meantime, I will go thru the topic to see If I can find the info.

Thanks.

How far is the hike? I have not ever really hiked, so this is something I am going to have to work up to.

Hikes are available for October 31 from 9 to 12 (most everyone will not be here yet) or November 4 from 1 to 4 (Sunday bingo would be missed); unless we get 10 people and then we can request a private hike. Cost is $10 per person; no pets.

Dawn duration is about 3 hours. If we still want to go we can each buy our own tickets. They will e-mail you confirmation.

I dropped the ball on this. Should have been rattling the cage a long time ago. Looks like we may not be able to work it in unless we get enough for a private hike. But let's take a look and see what shakes down. Don't buy until we agree if you want some of our company. Of course you go if you want to!

So right now Carolyn and myself are definite maybes. Sharon (California girl) you had originally said yes...back awhile ago. Looking at the two days are you guys still interested? Anyone else want to hop in?

Carolyn thanks for posting the web site. I am putting it here again. http://www.canyongorge.org/

Birdie, I think I will have to work up to 3 hours of hiking. Don't think I will be able to do this year. Maybe by next year will be more in shape for hiking that long.

Birdie, I won't be there in time for the Wed one, and possibly will be leaving Sunday, have had a few things come up and may have to leave for home. So guess I'm out on this one, but it sure did sound like fun. Darn! Maybe next time, if the timing is right.
