Pictures, pictures and more pictures. I am interested in why the Belle pictures didn't post whole. Its been awhile since I posted pics. Did PhotoBucket change their dimensions when I wasn't looking? Sorry for so many pics, that is what I get for not loading and posting in pieces and parts. And I would go back and edit the mistakes....but no...I'm going to bed. BAck to work tomorrow, sigh. So......
I know that this looks like a state park but this is Sarah's front yard.
I loved the rocks and the trees. I made me feel as if I were deep in mountains.
Blame this one on Sarah.
See even the wild mountain cats hang around the campsite!
And if the front yard isn't peaceful enough, try this porch in the trees
It really did feel like being in a tree house.
Here are the Sarah/Nicki pictures.
We visited the cemetery.
Sarah found the site some of her late husband's family.
Notice the figure on top of this one is real.
I liked this one. It refers to his dear wife but ....wait, he doesn't mention her by name????
Yes there were fancy ones. The children's headstones are usually the sweetest with the lambs. Got several of those but also found this little one stuck in the grass.
As Beth's Blog demonstrates we also did the Space and Rocket Center.
Beth could still walk after taking her ride on the lunar "coaster".
These drafting tools definitely don't look like CAD designing by computer.....Sarah also mentioned that the box looks identical to the tools that she used when she started drafting work on the rockets.
This cord was the initial connection used on the space walks. Looks kind of frail to me.
After the Rocket and Space Center, the next day (Sat) my tour guide, Sarah< drove me into town to check out some of the beautiful homes and visit the historic hardware store (Okay, I admit combining pictures from two town trip.)
Sarah pointed out how the ladders slide along the railing at the top. I felt like "Little House on the Prairie"
Sarah said this looked like her desk but don't believe her.
This is the "lift" for the store. Notice the rope pulls.
I liked this infant bath, though I wanted to put it higher an thought I could use it for dogs.
Just pretty buildings and lovely yards.
Sarah stopped special so that I could take a picture of these trees. Guessing that they have been guarding this street for awhile.
And Sarah liked the ferns....
Tour guide Sarah also took me to the center of the city and the source of the water.
The spring comes out from between these rocks and wind thoughout the city. Years ago before barriers were put in place, Sarah said people used to be able to walk back and access several miles of caves.....
And the fish in the canal.
When we headed up to the mountain and the campgound, it was all about hiking.
I knew there was a Herschel and Peaches picture somewhere...
I really liked the stone work in the cabins. I could live in a cabin like that...and the views aren't bad either.
Beth showed us the Japanese garden or what is left of it. It appears that no one is providing up keep anymore.
And this is what tired doggies look like after keeping up with Ms Peaches. Remi hadn't gone on the longer hike that day. So he could still hold his head up.
And our final tour trip to the Guntersville lake....
