I will mark my calendar; been looking forward to the evening around the campfire. I will try to bring something yummy to add to the goodies...cept I am a miserable cook...probably buy some kind of desert. Have you heard of "Grandma's Pies"? She bakes the pies and sells them at the north end of Kuehn street...they are really expensive but REALLY GOOOOD!!!!

I'm putting it on the calendar and will need directions, etc. Unless there is somewhere nearby for me to park overnight nearby, I'll head back to Salome before dark. I'm looking forward to this meeting!!

Should be good - read on FB that Jenny and Dan are headed to Q - so I'm guessing they will be there, too. Can't wait for the pictures!

Shiela - Where are you camped in Quartzsite? If I am in the area Jan. 24th, how can I find you and can I park my RV there? What can I bring to the gathering? Am not sure if I will travel from CA to AZ during this time but if I do, would like to meet you all. Thanks,

Linda

Linda, If there's anyway of you going at that time - you won't regret it. I've not had her Navajo tacos - but have heard all about them - and it's all good - not to say the great bunch you'll get to meet. If Sheila doesn't get right back to this post - pm her. She is known for missing posts on occasion ... said with a smile on my face.

LInda,
Just in case Sheila does miss this...I thought I would tell you where she is....it's easy to find. You may know that Quartzsite is situated where Hwy 95 (north and south) and Hwy 10 (east and west) intersect. Going south (not even a full mile) of town on Hwy 95 you take a left at the BLM camping area called LaPosa North .
There is a sign and it has it's own turn lane.
There is the little brick registration building with flagpoles right as you enter. Follow the road in for about less than half mile to the big Garbage bins...look to your right for her little sign that has their name "BOYD and a little Red Cardinal"; that's the start of her dirt road. Follow that road about 1/4 mile (or less) and their rig is at the treelined edge of the wash on the right (as are most along that road) and she and Larry have the Challenger 5er with an American Flag pole outside. Next to them is a giant Mobile Suites 5er with a tractor rig.
These year-round Quartzsite residents I have met are forever driving to S. California...so no biggy!!! See ya there!

THANKS Beth & KD - Plans look like they are changing yet again. Have an appointment 1/25 - will try to rearrange. Darn. Strange thing, last night when I posted, the PM didn't show on any of the avatars so I posted here. I have been to Q 2 times during the RV show in Jan. but we always stayed in RV parks. One of these times, I WILL get to meet you all.

the blm land is set up in different pay things
short term free but quite a ways from here 4 miles maybe
that is where jenny stays
2 week stay in long term is 40.00 if you dry camp in town it's 7 Dollars a day so it's a bargain in the long run
there is room by us Kerry is here as well for those that remember Kerry
the Navajo tacos consist of
Scones (fry bread is another term)
chili
taco fixins like lettuce onions tomatoes cheese ect
we have one gluten free dessert coming
normally I take care of Scones and chili
and let others bring the rest
for some reasons we are down to 3 chairs so need to bring you own chairs
have lots of wood sense I will be at QIA all week doubt we will use any of it till then
so looking forward to seeing everyone
Linda try really hard to come ok
Ava and Linda if you see this we are only 2 hours away

Just saw this. Hmmm! My normal day off is Monday, but thinking maybe I can swap with someone. I will PM Ava. I haven't heard from her, nor got to see her this winter. Maybe I can talk Ken into loading up SixPac (his truck camper) and taking me. He has been wanting to go somewhere with it. Sheila...Are the sites near you first come, first serve? Not sure how the whole Q thing works. Is there a big RV show during this time, too?

thanks for the pm Linda
I would love to go but my working 7 days a week now isn't set up for me to have any fun.
Hope to get a couple more months of paycheck out of the airport job and then I'm gonna
quit. Things have really got a good shake up down there with firing and hiring relatives.
It is what it is.
Somewhere with Ava and Maggie

Yes to the big rv show rv's up to the ye yang and some of them are for sale   like lots of them and we don't have sites like you are picturing out on blm land you go and find and if there isn't a rig parked there you can park they recommend not closer than not sure what it is but if you are with a group then that doesn't matter ....in town it would be iffy getting a site unless it is dry camping then you might although will say that this year feels different so there might well be hook up sites available...
Ava you know what they say all work and no play makes for a what was it???
we understand but you will be missed!!!
Tues wasn't set in stone if it works better for everyone then we can change it just not before that date as I'm tied up with the pow wow
and how do we find Evie? she is here somewhere at Rice Ranch I'm sure

OK. I called Workamper Phil tonight and he is switching with me next week so I can go to Q! I'm going to work for him on Monday and he is going to work for me Tuesday. I couldn't remember how far it is from here so I checked on my maps app and it takes something like 2hrs, 41mins. A bit far to do all in one day, so I'm hoping Ken will want to bring me in SixPac, so we can spend the night. It would probably be good exercise for Myrtle if he doesn't want to. It's just a hassle to pull up stakes when I'm all settled in here. I have to work at noon the next day, so will have to leave in time for that.

I'll be there 23rd or 24th if all goes according to plan. Won't have a car with me as I haven't gotten the base plate on the new one yet. It had to be ordered and frankly, I'm not putting a dime in that car until I get Ca plates on it. Long story and I'll do a separate post on it. Evie will be at Rice Ranch and staying over if she needs to so she can get to this GTG. I'm bringing my RZR so I can get down to the vendors this year and I can go over and pick her up in that. She swore she'd never get in it with me driving, but it's either that or walk! Sheila, let me know what you need...cheese? guacamole? lettuce? Donna may be coming out for the w/e and staying with me since she had to sell her rv. I'll send Jenny an email and let her know about dinner. Are we having breakfast too? That was fun last year.....
