Hiya travel pals! I reserved these dates for Lost Maples State Park HOPING to hit near the peak of the color on the trees.

The campground reservations go fast for November, and the week-ends are crazy with day visitors.

My first night.....Wednesday, November 9
2nd night.... Thursday, November 10
Leave Friday morning.

I'm open to a couple more nights somewhere on the way home too.

FYI, there is a place nearby with cabins to rent. Maybe 5 minutes from park. Will search around for the link later.

If my life settles down I'll drive down for the day. If we don't get some rain we may not have very good color this year. the drought is causing so much stress to the trees.

I'll try calling them tomorrow.

Looks like we will have some great colors during this time. It has gotten real cool here at Potter's Creek (50* last night), so I imagine it is cool at Lost Maples too.

Right now it looks like Ali and Ron are coming up from D'Hanis for this. Colleen (longdog2) is planning to drive over and stay with me. I believe that Vickie, Yakn1, may cancel out. I asked another friend, Shirley, who is now in Kerrville, to come join us. She probably won't bring her rig, but will stay here with Coleen and me in Bunkie.

I think I may go over to Escapees a day earlier so that I can get to Lost Maples sooner on the 9th. Then I may go back to the Escapees on the 11th so that I can stay longer at Lost Maples.

Any other Texas ladies want to join us?

Sorry, forgot to let everyone know...I have to cancel on this trip.
We are back in NJ for more work on Carra's back and won't return til the 8th.
I expect that she will be feeling crappy, so I'll stay wit h her a couple of days.

Am planning on making it to Brenham however and maybe even Carra. Wonders never cease

Yeah, pictures!! Sorry Vickie that you won't make it and I sure hope this latest jaunt to wonderful NJ helps Carra! Keep us posted on how she is doing. Wish I could join you guys, but dealing with stuff here in Cali makes it impossible. Darn!
