Anyone in Colorado?

Postby shnz821 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 7:17 am

Hi there! I'm just wondering if anyone on this forum is in Colorado...specifically Denver area? I'm hoping to meet other women campers out here, and maybe find someone else to go camping with on short weekend or overnight trips, while I familiarize myself with my new rig (I have a fear of setting up camp somewhere and then forgetting to do some essential thing with the trailer, have something go wrong and be stuck there by myself). There's alot more to remember with these rigs, than there is with tent camping. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks!

Hi there! I'm in Glenwood Springs - about 160 miles west of Denver. Can't help you with the technical stuff, but if you ever want to meet up, I'm game. There is also some GREAT camping over in our neck of the woods. Let me know if I can help you scout a weekend camp spot :-)

If you ladies haven't checked out the new forum member map (see http://www.womenrv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6117) you might want to consider having your general locations added (city/state only). It should prove to be a very useful tool locating others. No one currently showing in CO - you could be the first.

Glenwood is a little far for weekends, but you are right that there are some gorgeous places out that way!

Lake Dillion is gorgeous! Especially during the summertime. I'd definitely meet ya up there during the regatta season! :)

There is another gal named Amy who was on here last year but not sure if she is still a member or not. She is a teacher in Denver and just started out RVing last year. Anyone know if she is still here?

Amy's on-line name is LadyHawk. Looks like she is still a member but hasn't been on for quite awhile. You could probably PM her and see if she is interested in camping with you sometime. She is very nice!

We'll have to stay in touch. We've got a lot on our plate getting our business closed and our rig ready in the next few months, but will likely be heading toward Denver by May. We LOVE Cherry Creek State Park in Denver and will likely spend a couple of weeks there this spring.

she is indeed a very nice lady, I met her once when she came into Phoenix. She has
a really nice Jayco Greyhawk mh. I should pm her and see what she's up to.

I'm no where near Co., but just wanted to say, we have missed your smiling self around here, don't leave us like that. Glad Ava, was able to contact you.

Happy camping out there,

Hi Amy! I'm the newbie in Colorado...Denver to be specific. Just looking for other women rv'ers to go camping with in the area. This is my first TT (decided to move up from tent camping) and I'm still figuring out all of the gadgets and gismos on this thing.
I saw your posting on Cherry Creek State Park, I actually live right across the street and am planning on doing my first test camp there very soon. :)
Anyway, please drop me a line if you're ever up for a quick weekend camping trip in the area! -Sabrina

You live across from the park? I'm so jealous! I love that area. I've camped there many times and take my dogs to the dog park most weekends. I'd be happy to get together. I'm in Denver and am about five minutes from City Park (zoo, museum....all that stuff I never go to.)

And, to our other Colorado person in Glenwood Springs, I drove out to Rifle Falls last summer. Not a bad drive at all. Maybe we can all get together this summer.

I'm glad Ava dragged me out from under my rock. It's nice to be back in touch with everyone.
