Branson

Postby Bethers » Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:57 pm

OK, Karen brought this up in the AR thread - it needs it's own thread.

Some are going from the AR gtg on to Branson - anyone else want to come? Will be setting the place tomorrow (well, I believe Karen will be :) )

Dates: Check-in Friday, Sept 17th, Check-out Monday, Sept 20th

So far, I believe there is Karen, Sharon, me (I'm still working on AR)

Anyone else interested????

All depends on if we stay open here and don't get flooded out again, but it is a remote possibility. It would be easier for me than AR, as far as time and travel...and more feasable, since it is closer to IA. Keep us informed on the plan.

In addition...If you keep GTGing your way west, by Oct I should be heading towards southern CA and would be easier to justify it ;)

Ok, I made my reservations at the Branson Stagecoach RV Park for 9/17, 18 and 19. This is a Passport America park and got some pretty good reviews. They have a free shuttle to the shows. They only have 5 or 6 sites open that weekend so if you might come, probably should make reservations. Ask him to put you next to Karen West.

On Saturday there are 3 shows I'm thinking about; The Platters, 12 Irish Tenors or Masters of the Dance (that Irish dance group). On Sunday probably the Super Stars of Country. The shows seem to average about $35.

So far, Sharon, Beth, Carole and I. Who else??

I have my reservations at Stagecoach for 9/17-19 leaving on the 20th but I could be talked into staying longer if anyone is interested. My sister just told me we need to ride over to Eurika Springs to the Chapel in the Woods.

I'm in! So funny, I just called and gave the lady the arrival date and she started laughing and asked me if I was with the Karen party...she must have just talked to Carolyn to be laughing so hard!

I got a voice mail and no one has called me back yet. I am also interested in staying longer - so am asking about that when they call me back. - Whether I'll need to reserve to do that, of if they think they'll have openings (since that's during the week).

I want to see some of the old rock and roll shows - like maybe Paul Revere and the Raiders lol - so we might be going to different shows - but hey, that works, too.

Edited to say I made my reservation for 5 nights - and am thinking of calling back and changing it to a week. Sept is their busiest month - she doesn't believe they'll have anything if you wait - won't penalize if leave early. So anyone who might want to stay longer - make the changes.

OK, checked with the BF and the jeep run I thought I had to get back for in Oct is in Nov so just called and changed my reservation to leaving on the 22 instead of the 20th. That will actually work out better for me so I can see the grandkids in Fayetteville on the following w/e. Hope is gonna be soooo pissed, I promised her I would have her back across the Colorado River before Oct 1st...Ain't gonna happen by the time I stop in Albuquerque, Amarillo and Holbrook to visit. Good thing I have control of the steering wheel!! You guys know what it's like when your rv is mad at you!

Okay, my reservation is in...but not extended as of yet!..... Can't decide, three days of shows may be all I can handle.... time and/or money wise :) :) need to look at the map and evaluate what I am close to that may need me to drive and check out. Hopefully the SM will be settled in for the time being and not too needy. If so I can consider stretching the week/s out a little......may have to take that as a seat of the pants sort of plan....

It's called "plans made in jello" Tina...takes a little practice but you'll get the hang of it. Sometimes it's for fun and sometimes for necessity! We'll make a "real" rv'er out of you yet!

Tina, if you make the reservation for extra days, they won't charge you if you stay less. But if you only make for 3 and want to stay more, they told me not to count on getting a space. So I made it for 5 - if my budget throws me out after 3 - sobeit :)

I'm definitely putting the Paul Revere and the Raiders/Bill Haley and the Comets show on my must dos. In September that show is in the afternoon - as they run double events in the theaters because Sept is their biggest time of the year. Hope someone other than me wants to see them - but if not - off I'll go on my own.

Oh yeah, that one is on my must see list , too! Gonna have to check and see what else they have for the days I'm there...

Do any of you remember Sonda - she was in OK - name on the forum, I think was Olive Oil- or we nicknamed her that? She and her husband now live in Branson - and I've kept in touch with her. She just told me she's going to make up goodie bags for all of us - including show coupons etc. I'll see if we can meet up with her on Friday afternoon when we get to town. Kewl!!!!

Right now I'll tell her 6 goodie bags - and will let her know if we need more. Is that the right count? I'll make sure you don't need 2 Carol - I'm guessing the things in them will be good for a couple, also - same for you Karen and Carole).
