What are German pancakes?
Mimosas...
I think a Mamosa is what a nursing baby gets from a wino mother...

I'm really an official member now that I've attended a GTG. Sandy and I had a great time meeting everyone and sitting around the campfire. The State Park was a good choice, the food delicious and the campfire conversation was the best. Wish we could have been there earlier, but the long weekend was fun. I am heading to Walmart now that I know fleece P.J. bottoms are the correct (and warm) GTG attire.

Thank you Soos for planning the GTG and Nan for keeping the campfire roaring. Hope we don't have to wait an entire year for another GTG in FL.

Fleece pj's.. especially xmas themed ones, are indeed quite the camping fashion statement.

HoHoHo..Just call me Frosty.

(For those not there.. I practically wore holes in my fleece snowman xmas themed pj's)

Yeah, those red fleece snowmen/snowflakes ??? were quite the item. Nasoosie at least tried to make hers look like day wear by picking out the camo print. I just hope they have some left because you two looked warm and comfy.

Fear not.. if you can't find any... I can share. And we all know what excellent fashion sense I have. *beam*

Its not too late to sign up for the Texas GTG. I may break out a new pair of fleece pj's for that one. Naw... xmas themed is just so me.

Oh Dear----is it really over?? One thing that has plagued me all my life is the inevitable letdown that follows exciting times, like Chistmas, birthdays, and such. It was a fantastic time all around, spending time with such a unique bunch of ladies and men.....chatting around campfires, seeing others' rigs, sharing stories and walking and biking and just all-around good times! I was very sad to see today's daylight dawn, and see my closest neighbor, Alice, getting ready to roll right on her schedule. Her rig has some amazing gadgets to make life easier when on the road!

Pete slipped away without a goodbye or a nod, or anything! I heard his rig fire up, and the next thing I knew he was pulling out. He was most certainly the Jack of all trades at this event, as others have mentioned his workmanship. He also did a fantstic job of getting one drunken, Recipe-ridden camper into her trailer one night====thank you, Pete!

The campfires were "enhanced" by a couple of stealthy campers who managed to find some nice, long, downed odiferous logs (a NO-NO in FL state parks) to prolong the gaiety. Marshmallows and potatoes were roasted in the nice, red coals. The shuttle bike launching was exciting and well-attended by all in the vicinity of the boat Launch. I think many could not believe their eyes to see a girl with long blond hair biking over the waters! Unfortunately, one trailering girl was too hung over to even try the thing! Sigh!

After only two meetings with some campers, it felt as if we had known each other as well as blood family members. It was neat to see Bob Pewterman again after a few years.

The "unplanning" mode seemed to work very well, as everyone chipped in with sugestions, plans, offers, food, you name it----with no planned schedules other than a day to go to the RV show. I found it to be the most relaxed GTG I have ever been to, and I LOVED it!

Thanks to all who made this event so much fun!

When I get back to Orlando (I'm in St. Cloud tonight) I will post pics and videos that I managed to take, either on here, or on my rejuvenated blog.

I may be here for another night, as when I got back here, I discovered the kids have a stray dog, sweet hound-type, about a year old, recently having given birth, it seems, who was exhausted and very hungry for two days. I fed her, put some flea stuff on her shoulders, played with her, let her in the trailer where she promptly fell sound asleep. She has never had a collar on, it seems, is in good physical shape other than some callouses on her elbows, maybe due to being in a cement caged area?? Perhaps she is a puppy mill escapee?? Maybe an abandoned drop-off? Anyway, it is a dilemma as we wish to have her put into a no-kill shelter while perhaps trying to find her owners? We will call for help tomorrow.

Time to eat some supper, remember the good times, and head off to bed===with sugar-plums dancing in my head!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

This has been a great gathering. A group that truly enjoyed each other's company. Soos outdid herself with the steak and potatoes.

Irmy made the best German pancakes, hot chicken pies. Think I will just follow them around.

Kathleen made us an awesome apple crisp. So very good Kathleen.

Tonight I had to cook by myself, felt so lost. Miss everyone and all the enjoyment we shared together this week.

Sarah and I are off to start serious RV shopping tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone, especially to Pete for his assistance this week. Enjoying tv on the antenna.

It was such a wonderful gtg with awesome people and endless great conversation and more good food than anyone should have in the span of one week. Thanks to everyone, especially Nan who let me stay with her. She has even agreed to go RV shopping/test driving with me for next couple of days.
Soos - I know what you mean by the let down. I am dreading heading home but at least I have a few more days before I have to face that trip.

Hi everyone, Im missing you all on my way home, and also eating my way home out of cans. Its just not as much fun to cook for myself. Soos, i agree about the letdown after an event and the unplanned format for getting together is the most fun! Those of you still moving on (like me) be safe. AND REMEMBER, recipe is best consumed in SMALL cups, hee hee
