Mini GTG with Nikki

Let's get together!

Mini GTG with Nikki

Postby retiredhappy » Wed Apr 10, 2013 10:14 am

Met up with our newbie Nikki (Olive600) at Black Rock Park near Llano, TX. It was Nikki's first ever RV trip and I think she now has the bug - didn't want to leave and go home. We did a lot of talking about how to do things and hopefully her head won't explode. We had a lot of fun and plan on doing another small GTG in midMay possible at Canyon Lake. Think about joining us.

The bluebonnets were in full bloom and I managed to stop to take a picture.

This was my site. They are big sites and not crammed next to your neighbor.

Introducing Nikki and Olive (her furbaby) and her "new to her" rig.

Here are Baxter and Sophie in a field of Bluebonnets.

This is the Llano Courthouse. You gotta love these majestic courthouses in all the small Texas towns.

Black Rock Park would be a nice place for a GTG. Its right on Buchanan Lake for kayaking, trees for shade, free Wifi, clean bathrooms and even has small cabins.

Thanks, Karen! I had a wonderful time and of course Karen is trying to learn me up as they say in Texas. I have a long list of chores. Thank you to the forum for the gift bag. I am now official and have the flamingos to prove it. I sure hope all of you appreciate what a treasure Karen is.

Karen has lots of experience to help you out and she did a great job of decorating her last rig. I've only seen pictures of this one but they looked good too. Karen, the bluebonnets are beautiful. It's too bad that the water level in Buchanan is soooooo low but it does look like a nice park.

Looks like a great place to gtg. Glad you had the chance to initiate a newcomer. Loved the pic of the dogs in the Bluebonnets.

It is just so neat that we all know that we don't have to wait around for a big "planned" gtg to get our rigs out and meet up and have a fun time.

Hi Linda,
Olive didn't do very well on the ride there or the first night in the RV. The second night and the ride home were better. A mild tranquilizer might be in order until she calms down; it shouldn't take long. I need to get her some steps onto the bed and a ramp into the RV. She can get up the outside stairs but not easily. She can't get on the bed; her legs are too short. I realized that she gets on the bed at home by running and leaping onto a bench and then the bed. No running room in the RV. So I've added stairs to the list. Thanks for asking.

Karen certainly is a jewel to have around, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her while she was in my direction and
have plans to get to Texas myself sometime in the near future. Love the pictures Karen.

If Olive did better on the second night, then all she probably needs is more time out and about. :D All of my puppies (3) are small. I have a truck camper and If I used steps inside, they would take up the whole aisle. :D I could use another step outside though. As it is, I have to pick them up and put them in the truck, then lift them down, then up again into the camper and on the bed. Then reverse it when we go out. It's a good thing they are not heavy. (I feel a song coming on. ) Linda
