Off Rte 80 just west of Demopolis, AL, near the MS border. Centrally located for a GTG for AL, MS, TN, LA, TX, GA, FL, etc.

Foscue Creek Campground, Corps of Engineers cg. 54 campsites, mostly full-hookup. Sites 1-15 are W/E only.

My level site in the W/E loop, $10 with the Golden Pass

Mostly long back-ins

But there are at least 2 pull-throughs, Site 7, shown here, and site 17 in the FHU side.

THe canoe is pointing at my rv. If I didn’t have business to attend to, my kayak and I would stay and play awhile.

A view down Foscue Creek

Lots of places to ride a bike...this is a picnic area

Three large pavilions/shelters

Hiking trail

Places to fish

3 playgrounds for the young-at-heart

Protected by the US Coast Guard...(oh, maybe that’s not good?)

Pretty bluebird, but don’t ride your bike on the sidewalk to the shower.

The only negative I could find is that the cg is near a railroad track. For those of you unable to remove your hearing aids, that might bother you.

That's good to know about this park. I've made the trek from TX to Atlanta a couple of times with the trailer and that's about halfway.

Looks like a very welcoming CG. Just looking at the sunshine makes me want to get on the road, but alas, they have avalanche warnings on most of our mountain passes right now. If not snow, then buckets of rain. ;)

Boy, that does look like a great place for gtg. Shame you didn't get to play with your kayak. Are you really in that big a hurry?

Beautiful park, Liz, and great pics! I sure do wish I knew where I am going to be able to get my senior pass. I really think I might have to head for my brother's house sometime during the summer and get one at Valley Forge which is nearly right across the street from his house. Trouble is, it's a long drive---about 450 miles one way. Oh well....

Thanks fo sharing this info.

Soos - here's a list of places that issue the passes - maybe there is one closer to you - maybe even in NY?

Could you make a stop in Rome, NY on your way home and get one there? At the Fort Stanwix National Monument?

Soos, there is a list by state of places you can get the Senior Pass. I'll see if I can copy the site to here.
