Bay View Campground, MI

One of my favorite campgrounds we stayed in on our trip last summer was on the shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is a National Forest Campground, called Bay View.
Being a NF cg, there are no hookups, although water was available. I believe I remember there were vault toilets. Sites are not necessarily level. There are 24 wooded sites, maximum spur is 55 feet. Those I guess, are the negatives.
Roe wasted no time heading for the beach which can be viewed from the picnic table.
And the water, which was chilly.
Too bad it was so crowded, huh?
Campsite: $6.00, Sunrise: priceless
Location: On Rte 221, north off SR 28 past Iroquois Light on Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior, UP of Michigan
Overall rating: 10 for scenic value, less for those who must have hookups and hot showers.
