City and State: Waco, TX
Name of CG: Speegleville Park
CG Website: Check COE website
Overall Rating: (on a scale of 1 – 10) about 8
Pros: Nice environment for fishing, hiking, birding. Relatively quiet for weekend. Nice sites most with shade trees. Each site had a metal covered picnic table (also metal), and they have some cabins but they were under re-construction. A marina is nearby, too.
Cons: Vicki, Yakn1, said the showers were not too great. Very stifling after the shower, had to open the door for fresh air. Most sites needed to be mowed. Lots of rain has caused lots of green grass in central Texas in 2010.
Comments: I would stay here again, but not in the summer on weekends because I am sure it is very busy. A Remote Controlled airplane park was near, and boats are put in and out in the park. I would also try the other park nearby called Midway Park.
Rate: $10.00 nightly rate (for Golden Age/Access pass holders) and $20.00 for others, has 30/50 amp and water, with a dump on the way out of the park.
