City and State: Apache Junction, AZ (near Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe)

Name of CG: Santa Fe RV Park, 1800 Ironwood, Apache Junction, AZ

CG Website: Don’t think there is one.

Overall Rating: (on a scale of 1 – 10) This is a 10 in June 2010

Pros: Big rig friendly, great hookups, large sites, no trees (it‘s the desert dearie), interior road conditions are great as all are black topped, very level sites. Electric is 50 amp so you need a 50 to 30 pigtail. The quietest RV park that I have stayed in this year. The cleanest park that I have ever stayed in. I am sure with the Winter Rvers, it would be more active, louder and stuff happening.

Cons: Couldn‘t find anything bad about it.

Comments: For those of you that like the back roads this is easy to get to if you are on Hwy 60 traveling west. That would be a road that runs parallel to I-10 and eventually goes right into downtown Phoenix. So while it is good to use getting to this site, you would want to see about looping around town to go further west. Ironwood which this is located on is a 2 lane street and could use some TLC. Wal-mart is just a few miles away with a Dollar Tree across the street, and there is a farmer’s market close to the Wal-Mart. Also a Big Lots and a Basha’s (nice local to AZ grocery store).

Rate: One of the best things is that they do accept Passport America. That‘s makes the summer months have a daily rate of $13.50 plus tax it is less than $15 a day. PA is good for seven days.

Great info, Birdie! It's wonderful to hear about campgrounds straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak! Your descriptions are very informative!
