Fort Pickens - Gulf Islands Seashore

Fort Pickens - Gulf Islands Seashore

Gulf Islands Seashore National Park is more than just Fort Pickens but this is an exceptional park. Located in the Florida panhandle near Pensacola, the fort is at the end of the island with the campground about one mile before that. You are right next to beautiful white sand beaches and you learn some American history. Here is a link: http://www.nps.gov%2Fguis%2Fplanyourvis ... oLa3GUwxdg

I also stayed at another facility in their group in Mississippi near Ocean Springs. Lots of wildlife at this one.

I agree - it's beautiful there. Your link doesn't work - so here's a link to Ft. Pickens: http://www.nps.gov/guis/planyourvisit/fort-pickens.htm

Not sure what you mean by "another in their group" unless you mean another nps campground?

Thanks, Liz. Still foggy even after looking at the website, but not quite as confused :)

I always wanted to stay there when visiting Gulf Shores. I'm on jury duty until end of year but think I'll take off for the beach sometime in January..love the beach in the winter :D
