Big Bend of the Colorado, Laughlin, NV

I wanted to share this campground because the spots are so huge and the price is very reasonable for a full-hookup campground. Cost is $30 and first-come, first served, although I was told it was seldom busy. Very quiet and nice view of mountains. Colorado River is nearby but you have to walk there. I did not use facilities, but I peeked in showers, and they looked clean. There are individual unisex rest rooms and shower rooms, which is nice if you have a family or are traveling with a disabled person. Handicap sites were paved and also big.

Here is my pull-through site. You can see how far apart the sites were--nice privacy even though no shade.

And here is an empty site:

I rode my bike down to the river. There is a small beach and boat launch, but the current was so strong, I think swimming might be dangerous. Apparently, they are releasing a lot of water from Lake Mead and sending it to California because of the drought.

I would not stay here in the summer because it is so hot here, but very nice in the winter.

I figured I could have parked a small-midsized RV behind and in front of me, plus 7 or 8 cars alongside! Biggest sites I have ever seen, which shows you that whoever is designing new campgrounds, at least in Nevada, knows what they are doing. Level, also.

Gosh, those sites ARE huge, Judy! I stayed at the Avi Resort Casino KOA just south of Laughlin and enjoyed it. A bit like a parking lot frankly with lots of gravel but right across from the casino which boasts a movie theater, pool, hotel, casino natch, restaurants, beach on the Colorado, gas station, RV wash, etc. And I won $2795 on the slots.

I have a cousin who just bought a winter place across the river in Ft Mohave...VERY affordable at 58K (manufactured in community), in case anyone wants to settle in for a bit. :-)
