Printer in the Basemant?

Is there some reason I couldn't put my printer in the basement right under the kitchen? There is an outlet in there. I'm sure I'd have to look hard at protecting it somehow.... just thinkin' out loud. It would only be about 8 feet away from the computer. ???? Susan

Don't know, but could you put some egg crate foam around the bottom and sides to protect it from bumps?

Still shopping for my motorhome, but I was thinking about putting mine in a closet since I don't have many shoes.

Don't know what you call them, but I think the things that spray the ink on at least an inkjet are kind of sensitive. Does anyone know?

My outside compartment isn't waterproof. You might check yours after a big rain. I would also think it would be damp in an outside compartment but what do I know, I live in Louisiana and everything is damp. lol

I think the temperature changes might be a problem in a basement compartment. I'm assuming its a wireless. I never could get my wireless to work in the rig.

Besides the difficulty in controlling the temp and moisture I would find it awkward to retrieve printed documents from the printer. Then I am pretty lazy and like being able to reach over and check to be sure that the copy is what I want and came out clear, etc. :?

Good points all, and well worth experimenting with. We'll see & I'll let you know. Susan
