Dreaming and surfing the net and looking into the Mac world of computing.
Not sure what the big difference is between the Pro and Air. Probably size and power.
Anyway, just wanting all of you using Macs to chime in with any reviews you'd care to share.

Maybe this will help, I Googled MacBook Pro vs Macbook air. I have the Macbook which they no longer make which is good since mine has been repaired twice and replaced three times!! Love my new iMac desktop though.

Looks pretty much a draw from that article.
I also would like to hear from anyone with a Mac laptop. Pros/cons.

I got the 13 in Pro last year with my "go back to work" money......but from the article the advantages and comparisons between the two have changed in a year as a result of changes in design and configuration. It appears that unless you are making your money using all the high end features of Apple the difference that you will notice the most will be the weight...... Especially if you are carrying it around to coffee shops.... :) That said, depending upon what you want to do with it the suggestion of getting an iPad to "carry around and connect with".....seems like a reasonable on for many situations.

I have an iPad and love it. Only drawback is it can't open some files. I was hoping for an Apple computer with 3G/4G like the iPad, but I do't think there is such a thing. I bought my iPad for traveling and I think it will do nicely. Just dreaming, again, I guess.... :D

Lenora - I have had a MacBook Pro laptop for a few years and love it. It's a little heavy but I can burn CDs, watch and burn DVDs, video chat, do photos, etc. Guess CDs are becoming obsolete?? Of course, I've always had Apple computers and always will. I take my laptop with me when I travel. But, I'm looking to get an iPad - don't know when but I think that would be great for travel. Can you add photos to an iPad? I know the new iPad is video chat capable and I use that just about every day talking to my twin grandbabies. Good luck with your choice. Have a couple relatives (including my 92 yr. old mother) with the Air and they love it.

The iPad itself takes terrible pictures but you can connect it to your computer or buy a camera connection to download from SD card right to the iPad. I have used Face to Face and that works well. Getting on this forum is much easier and quicker. I haven't tried using Photobucket or Picassa and kinda doubt if the iPad would support those programs. Guess I should try?
On edit:  I should have known! "There's an app for that!". Just down loaded it (photobucket), Works great!

I like my IMac so much that I intend to find a place for it in the motorhome, and I don't care how much space it takes up! I have an iPad too, and an iPhone.... I can't imagine that I need anything else...

Gotta love those apples.

My sister has a MacBook Air and she loves it. It's sleek, and light, and the screen is really sharp. It does everything she wants it to do. I had a MacBook Pro before the iPad, but it was quite old. I wasn't thrilled with it - got sick of the weight in relation to the screen size, and didn't like the keyboard or touch pad. Saw one in Best Buy when sister was looking; doesn't look like much improvement, and don't really know why anyone would choose the MacBook.

I bought the Macbook before the Pro came out and tried to talk them into giving me a deal on a Pro in when it came out :D they would have been $$ ahead for all the times they repaired/replaced the macbook for me. My DH has an iPad and we were able to Skype with terrific sound and picture when he was in Scotland last spring. I have a new iPhone on order and if it will Skype and especially if it will connect to an external keyboard I will use that when I travel instead of taking a computer. I use the iPhone I have now to read and listen to books and find it just the right size, maybe if I had the iPad first I might feel different though.
